It started great, but as the game goes on it feels more and more like the challenge is less figuring out what reasoning to use and more figuring out how to make the idiot say it.
I couldn't figure out what to type to choose to use the escape pod. "Escape pod" didn't work. "leave", "go", "activate escape pod", "escape". Nothing works. It kind of defeats the purpose of a game based around this kind of choice if it doesn't let me make that choice.
Locking upgrades until they're entirely unneeded and power-ups are given out for free and instantly break any level. Excellent concept, decent execution, genuinely fun game, but it seems like every deliberate design decision beyond the first storyboard is precisely the wrong decision.
I'm actually glad that you added the ability to take ourselves off the highscore board if we decide to cheat. This was actually one of the first flash games I ever figured out how to cheat all by myself way back when it had about half as much content, and at the time I kind of felt bad about kicking people off the high score board who got there the hard way. Now I have a permanent 50000% boost and no guilt whatsoever.
Asking me whether I want to be deafened right from the start with your shitty background music or proceed in peace? Automatic 5 stars. I will continue rating any game with this feature an automatic 5 until it becomes common practice.
Difficulty curve is inconsistent and way too easy. It feels like a couple of finicky levels scattered randomly amongst piss easy ones rather than any kind of progression. That said, I did waste a couple hours of my life on it, and it's sometimes pretty fun.
It reminds me of "How to Back into a State Without Really Trying" on Philosophy Bro (Google it, it's awesome). It's basically the story of feudal Europe as told by the Libertarian Zombie of Machiavelli.
It's either a sophisticated statement about the military industrial complex, or just a bunch of silly pigs with rocket launchers. Either way it's awesome.
Coming soon! Thanks for letting us know this is essential for you.
