I've played this game for over 7 years, and I have a lot to say about the direction the game is going. The advisor system (You're hitpoints are under 7! Run away!) combined with the Doomsayer (the warnings for any possible thing that can harm you) remove any sense of exploration or enjoyment in wandering around. Skillcapes killed the community, if you don't have a skillcape then you are branded as a "noob". The grand exchange further ruined the community in that you never have to interact with anyone-ever. Before the skillcapes and Grand exchange, this game meant something. Now, when all anyone aims for anymore is those pointless capes and the double digits. I personally quit this game, because no one plays to play-Now its just a place for people with OCD to click the same thing over and over and over, which really makes me sad.
I WANTZ AN AUTO RELOAD SO I CAN MAKE A MACHINE GUN OUT OF MY PISTAL AND SHOTGUNS AND STOOF!!!!! WHY AINT DERE ONE?!?!? tards who think the game needs an auto reload.
Randomly or procedurally generated games are the future of video gaming. Look up spelunky on youtube if you don't know what I mean. Games like Left 4 dead have some randomization, but not enough to keep it fresh, for having those one in a million moments where set pieces do amazing/hilarious/awesome when they collide.
I would have to say that this game is a lot different than many other platform games. It has a uniqueness about it, I would say this game would be a great survival horror game, if there were movable enimies that chased you across the course. One thing I wouldn't do though, is put combat in. Too many survival horror games are about crappy combat that forces you to save you're ammo and all that junk. I'd say this game has quite a bit of potential, especially with the level editor.
I'm getting tired of these wanna be "art games" that fail to squeeze a single drop of emotion from me that the author was trying to convey. "Bad comedy can be horrifying, and bad horror can be funny".
I've noticed quite a few things that are pretty damn interesting. First the small things:the ship that flies by has a huge mounted gun on it. "You've been vaporised" small bomb that you bumb into, explodes. Canabalt crane company on the crane.
Every 5000 meters theres a special background piece. At 5000, there's a floating fortress. At 10,000 theres a huge drop pod or a giant leg of some huge mechanic beast.
When the obstacle where this huge thing drops onto the building in front of you and destroys it, theres a door and ladder slightly smaller than the man who you control.
Plus this up so everyone can see the secrets. Post the special background for 15k and 20k and beyond if you can ;)
Wait a second! Everyone is saying that there is no point to the game-there is! From the start:walk forward for 45 seconds, then turn 90 degrees to the right. Walk forward another minute and a half, and that's when the game really begins. Didn't want to spoil the surprise, so have fun!
I was under the impression that anything copyrighted was not allowed, even if fan made games are green lighted by the actual developer. But this could be any red clothed plumber collecting coins right?
The game combines elements of classic platformers from days of old;sonic style speed, super mario 64 exploration and playground-like levels, and a playful atmosphere (don't touch any keys for a minute or so). One of the best platformers out there, in any format.
Excellent level generations, the inclusion of powerups, health, all make this a great game. Achievements would definately be cool, say reaching a certain height, getting 5 powerups in a row without using them, there are tons to think of. 5/5 favorited
