Nice enough graphics. I'd spend my time working on the puzzle, rather than the graphics. If you can extend it out to take 5-10 minutes on average, it will be highly playable.
Alright, I'm going to treat this as a first draught, submitted for suggestions.
The good: This game has pretty smooth mechanics and animation.
The Bad:
Lack of storyline.
Lack of variety.
Lack of closure (I need to end or level).
Other (neutral comments).
I think the explosion animation flashes by a bit too quick. It looks jerky and sudden.
The balloons are a bit too big, making it to easy.
Suggestions:
Multiple balloon colours, Avoid the black ones, get the gold ones for a power up.
Challenges:
For example: Get 7 green balloons to finish the level. Avoid all others.
Decent action,
You should make the movement arrows more obvious. It took me a while to figure it out. Description is misleading. Should be: Shoot everything. There is no stealth.
Indeed, this game did give me pause to reflect (although a pause button would have made it easier) on my past and my vulnerabilities. I also had to examine myself (at least until my mom walked in) and collect my thoughts on how I perceived others. Then I thought back to my Iron John self help books, and lay back my head and let out a dino-tastic roar! And what do you know, Laser beams shot out.
Even with the walkthrough, I couldn't get past the assembling the paper. I've tried it both zoomed in and out. The paper bits will not drop.
I assume I'm supposed to assemble it on the table that is sticking out into the room, below the periodic table.
Draw a square:
1) Line
2) Two overlapping circles with center on line.
3) Connect overlapping points on circles to create perpendicular.
4) Erase circles.
5) Draw circle with center at intersection of perpendicular lines.
6) Connect points on circumference to make a square.
7) Erase circle, and original two perpendiculars.
Why is this wrong?
Interesting educational tool.
I wouldn't bother with all the configurable text -- It doesn't add anything.
Make the formula box empty by default, so I don't have to clear it. Also, clear it after wrong answers so I don't click again and lose score twice. (happened when I entered "xpi" and it wanted "x*pi" -- it was not obvious that the first was incorrect.)
Needs to dampen oscillations faster. Level 3 was firmly wedged, but had a little wobble. Bonus ran out, left it open for a few more minutes, but it never stopped wobbling and wouldn't let me pass.
