Cave 1 through 4 tips, important things to have, phoenix (dealing with the rushes), spell that deals 2x damage (important for the "boss"), 1 tank, 3 ranged (witch, succubus, centaur works well), as soon as the boss creature is visible send everything you have at it, your tank will be fodder, as soon as your ranged units start firing throw on a "double damage" spell and the boss drops in no time.
Ok what the hell is with Cave of Ordeals 5, apparently the hero has 1 hit kill, so I get tricky, I cast the invisible spell on my troops and take him out, but then I still hear the cling of his sword as he takes out every one of my troops and my castle in one shot? WTF!?
One thing that would make this game more enjoyable (other than my bow! :D) is to either have ALL units go where you click whether they're created or not, or have some hot key for "rush forward" or "pull back to the castle". Because as it stands it a bit of a click fest having to click on a portrait and on the field of battle whenever a new troop is made since they default to "Stay at home"
Seems the difficulty (initially) is quite random, when I chose the Orc I had a really tough time winning any battles, the surge alone wiped me out. However when I played as "the Red" I easily cruised through the entire game.
DUDE!? WTF DID YOU DO TO THIS GAME!?
There's a reason why games like Bowmaster Prelude are so hot, because people want to play that type of game, Epic War 1 & 2 did just that. You completely changed the game, and IMO ruined it. I'm sure it's a good game, but I want to play a game that plays like the other ones. Seriously, there is no reason to call this game "Epic War", should have simply called it Card Master Deluxe or something.
While the game isn't bad for the type of game it is, I was expecting something like the other, as a result, I wish I could give negative stars!
Awesome game, I love it!
However it I "finished"?? by destroying the multi-platform base and it says "... to be continued", last two missions it shows as not having completed. And geeze, missile fabrication? Got that after I finished the game? Thanks!
Meh.. nice attempt, however a machine gun that'll rip through a tank with enough shots won't completely incapacitate a soldier after a shot? I mean WTF!
The 100% most likely is a rounding issue, if you look at the screen after you'll see you got really close to your goal but not quite there.
Very simplistic, however once you realize a good order for shops, it becomes a "no brainer lets just see if this thing has any sort of ending to justify playing through it"
3/5
Nice concept a few problems, as mentioned humvee gunner is bugged he just flops back and forth and doesn't do anything, it'd be nice if you could put some other non-conventional weapons on your survivors like the laser, I mean they fire in bursts anyways so it's not like they're overpowering, there's an empty slot under your guy for a weapon? I don't get it, was it supposed to be a two weapon affair or is that a slot for another survivor? I have 19 of them. Password on next to last stage just to make you go to the host website is pretty lame. Oh and the ending is very anti-climatic. That is all.
Meh, thought there might be some level of "physics" involved here since it's a gravitational ATTRACTOR, but seems this is only partially the case, on one level I move closer to the matter stream and it actually pushes it further away... *sigh* 1/5
Nice game. Dislike the "last resort" spam when the base is getting low. Wish destroying turrets was a bit easier, as it stands it seems the Battleship is the only one that has a decent chance of doing it, and then only the lower ones. Units are nice, can't understand why the nuclear sub is so expensive, not like it fires nukes. But whatever.
Game has some definite potential, I wish other characters would become much more automated though. While they do attack, and occasionally move around, it seems they don't use their special abilities at all.
Oh and change that requirement for picking chests, I found a grand total of 2 basic chests, but I need to have at least 10 to open up the 8 intermediate ones I already found?
Also why bother having inns of different cost when it's not like you're actually traveling through the world and an older in that cost less is a click away.
A few more gripes. Why does the hero, a "fighter" class have less hitpoints than everyone else? Also why aren't members that join you already at the appropriate experience point for their level, as it stands you have to still build them back up just to advance. Auto-end turn please, if you moved, and you did an action, the only thing that's left is end turn, so why not make that automatic? Also direction you face, does it really matter? As it stands this game is a mouse click fest, remove the direction and that's one less mouse click, since it doesn't seem that you get any bonus from attacking from the rear, there's no counter attacks, so why bother?
Seems like a good concept, however it's unbelievably slow. Saves ultra fast, yet you rest overnight and there's this huge lag between resting and telling you your hp/mp have been restored.
Work on these speed issues and it's a sold 4 to 5 game.
