I know this is supposed to be one of those "I don't need to do anything" games, but do different classes do anything different? Will the adapt actually start flinging fireballs or something and become stronger than an equally leveled knight? Or is it simply all about the stats?
Oh yeah one more, I don't really dig how your monsters in your party dictate how many AP you have. If you're unwise and choose the 1/AP monsters you really are at a serious disadvantage. At the very least AP should be something that goes up with leveling (obviously multiple levels for 1 AP)
Quite a fun game, only real issues I have is that there's too much of a need to go back and fight already beaten battles to level up. I can't stand RPGs that absolutely require that you grind for XP for a long time. Also some neater monsters came out a bit later however really had no incentive to change them out since the ones I had were already leveled up and new ones start at level 1. Also an autosave would have been nice, because fights can go from relative ease to complete death sentence, e.g. the first boss fight was relatively easy, however the fight right after it (Why are there fights after the boss?) first two guys are easy, then the vampire completely eats me alive, solution grind on the next map come back and win, however I didn't feel like there was any real incentive to doing those after-boss fights. Boss fights should be a climatic finish to a level.
However overall its still enjoyable, Rudy has done a good job with his games.
Also the accuracy mod you can do on a new game needs to be seriously tweaked, I'll take a hit in XP no problem, as long as I can use some of the more "fun" weapons without worrying about getting slaughtered.
Ditto of that, there have been games where I got 10 perfect waves the first 10 days, others where I barely survived the first few days. The biggest issue I have is the randomness of the shots due to the accuracy of the weapon, I mean really why is there even crosshairs if the accuracy is so low you can literally have bullets fly anywhere on the screen? Makes using some of the heavy machine guns and heck even revolvers really useless.
Accuracy needs to be toned down a fricking ton. I played a ranger, the cruddy HMG you start with barely beat the first level with only 1 HP left, and this was casual AND the tighter accuracy mod thrown in. Another game as a rogue I switched to a revolver and I couldn't hit squat.
If you're going to have the spread of the bullets that insane/unrealistic at the very least the cross hairs of the gun should approximate the potential spread of the bullets, as it stands there is a limit to how big they get.
Holy cow there's a 2nd page to upgrades? DOH! Way to be obvious with those tabs ;).
Also I think the difficulty level increases too much too quickly, needs to be a more slow progression in difficulty... or at least have the causal mode be like that for wussies like me who want to enjoy building up my fortress.
Uzi challenge, try to get the Uzi achievement first so there's no spread of your bullets, and start at the top and hold the trigger trying to methodically fire 3 per row if you miss the falling bullets will help, even with a reload you can get it in at 5 seconds and the expert badge.
Well good news is the Kar 98k challenge was reduced to 980 bullets, bad news is I had over 980 bullets so it has me stuck there but it doesn't show me as completing it.
HATE the controls, I don't know if I'm just left brained but whenever I hold the space bar down with my thumb if I'm not paying a lot of attention I also hold down one of the direction keys.
Need to be able to map your own keys, or better yet simply map both side weapons to the mouse.
Love the game, but it frosts me weenie to no end to see the company touting a demo. You want to make a game and charge for it fine, don't use free game sites as a means of free advertising for your game.
Do you actually level up in the game where you can improve your stats? Because I can't find that information, and the achievements screen suggest you can since it says those XP do not add to your character's experience
