I'm not too far into it, but I'm actually liking the concept so far. It does seem that a few additional power ups or hazards could make for good game advancements, but having an end point rather than a simple high score game adds interest for me.
Heh...While extremely glitched out, oblivious to upgrading weaponry (until the very end) and a shortage on decent weaponry, I FINALLY won! With a fairly simple strategy too. For one thing, I couldn't move my middle turret, which was the ultra machine gun thing (If I could have, this would have been easy...) nor sell it, which meant I had an extreme shortage of money! Then, I had a damage buffer and a shield...And the big secret? THREE ICEES!...So basically, I continuously pounded the boss with ice and shot it with an incredibly wimpy machine gun and won.
Oh, err...I beat it. So, now I need to say something useful. Yes. More fiar. The fiar was good. I think that this was a...good means of creativity. Also, yes.
Well, I finally found a way to get around the "no-fire glitch". If you have a shield generator, use it on the turret that cannot fire. This should solve the problem.
I never realized just how useful damage buffers were...Any Spread guns fairly useless at the point I'm at, but coupled with the machine gun, yes I went through them like butter. Thanks for the help, Plox :).
I'm having a lot of trouble with destroying the giant elephant ships...I've tried lots of different strategies against them, to little avail. Do they have some king of weak point or an easier wat to bring them down?
