That's some nifty gameplay you've got there. Simple, yet original, fun and interesting. And it's also perfectly executed; which is quite a feat considering it's only your first game. The metaphor for love is clever and it adds a nice touch. Really cute, 5 stars :)
Great game, and it will obviously get badges. But it needed more detailed instructions, because some things aren't really obvious. For instance, I didn't know that I would lose gold if I built on a tile and then erased it; I thought I would get back what I spent. So, by the time I noticed, I'd wasted a lot of gold carelessly drawing and erasing.
It seems that most of the content isn't in the flash game. One campaign episode out of how many? League of heroes, one tournament out of how many? But the really unforgivable omission is the multiplayer. People usually play card games primarily to pvp, and that part REALLY shouldn't have been left out. I don't know how to rate this game, since the most important parts of it aren't even here. 2 stars?
I really like this game; it gives me a kind of sweet nostalgic feeling. My one and only complaint is that it's annoyingly difficult to target the butterflies. 5 stars anyhow. On another note, I noticed that one of the alpha-testers is Gregory Weir... that's interesting. I can see some influence here.
@PumpkinDog I think you're being unfair. Remembering and forgetting are the main ways you move on to different scenes when you're reading an introspective novel. Using them in a game creates the same stream-of-consciousness sense you would get from reading a good book. I know I can't express it very well, but I get what he did and I think it's brilliant.
It seems very buggy. I randomly got the Fallout 3 achievement, I got Mellow Killer 2 and 3 without getting the 1st, the umbrella doesn't always appear when I ckeck its box, and I've only been playing for a few minutes. Pity, because it's an otherwise fun game.
@paulb1987 Neel was clear: He said the game depends TOO much on timing. And I agree with him - it's too precise, and doing the same thing over and over hoping to click the right millisecond is tiring. @ALL: On level 28, at a certain critical point, try to make use of the fact that the game pauses when it loses focus, so that you have time to position your mouse ;)
Awesome point'n'click! Good puzzles, good humour. It reminds me of the good old days of adventure games (Sierra, Lucas Arts, the like). 5 stars and I hope to see badges!
I think that the reason most people find the turning arrows counter-intuitive is because each arrow starts at the top and begins at the bottom, showing the way someone would turn if they were positioned across from the player and looking towards the player. If you drew the arrows starting from the bottom and ending at the top, you probably wouldn't get so many complaints. I don't know if I was clear enough, it's hard to convey a shape without drawing it :/
