This game needs a ton of major fixes to even be acceptable.
1) Auto fire. No pressing space.
2) Mute button.
3) Restart button (if you die in the first levels, why do you have to wait to lose all your lives?)
These are just common sense funtionality changes. Whoever designed this seriously overlooked some stuff.
Some gameplay changes that would be nice (but are obviously not necessary):
1) Faster respawn rate: It's freakishly annoying when you miss a heart because you've died. Especially if it's a boss heart.
2) Making the doll's movement not slow so much when on the ground. The other ragdoll games weren't this hard to control.
Having a fire key is a *major* negative, especially since it's space, because computers don't like space and multidirections at the same time. This game is fun, but really poorly designed.
To Tom and Greyhound Games: I love this one. It's tough, but not impossible. So far beaten evil wizard + death knight (hard). What I'd request: give details on ALL abilities. What does "whirlwind" do? Death shot? Turn Undead? Knowing would be more than half the battle, here.
an awesome game that just keeps getting better wit hbug fixes and updates! Good job. A bit more music, would be nice, as it gets repetitive quickly in the long levels.
A fun little game. Agreed that the hit detection sucks. However, good way to waste an hour. No more than that, because there's no real AI to speak of here.
I had a problem with this chapter, as opposed to the first two. The thesis seemed to be less about the nature of video games in general than about certain games--specifically those with readily observable changes, responsive to trial and error. Yes, many games are playable without a manual. Some, though, are not (advanced strategy games, perhaps?), and for others reading the manual confers a distinct advantage over trial-and-error. The thesis of this chapter seems superficial, unlike the earlier chapters which seemed to provide quite piercing analyses of the ontology of video game performance.
A really fun game (normally worth 4 or 5 stars), but incredibly crashy. Don't try to say it's my computer, because it's NEW. The game crashed both IE and Firefox for me.
Fun, but, uh, well, a tad repetitive, and easy once you work out a good strategry. Just do all the hardest levels first. Also, would be better if money came from conquering territory, not from kills.
I've actually found the thing-thing games somewhat repetitive. Cool bleak atmosphere, but not amazingly fun. The ending also makes little sense... ah well.
