Status update: I seem to be falling behind (as usual), but I should still be able to get the update out this week. On the plus side, I made some extra content, but on the minus side, that content won't be released until later.
Status update: the new content is getting close, except for the second cutscene, which still needs a fair amount of work. I'm also working on tidying up the main menu, preparing some other content (no details yet, sorry), and choosing a service to handle cloud saves.
Status update: got sidetracked from the Duplicator+Child content. Have this balance update instead! Now... what else could I do instead of working on that content? (Just kidding, I'm not deliberately avoiding it. It'll be next unless someone finds a serious enough bug in today's release.)
Status update: I've been working on some character rebalancing (Student buffs, Gentleman buff+nerf, Pastafarian nerf+buff) in response to user feedback. Two of three are done, and the third will be done soon. I expect to have it out this week, but sadly the new Explore levels will probably not be included.
Status update: working on a level set for the Child and Duplicator. Won't have much story, but hopefully I'll be able to get it out quickly. I'm still thinking about cloud saves.
Hi everyone, and sorry for being out of touch. I have a bad habit of fooling myself into thinking I'm almost done, when really I'm not. And then I have another bad habit of saying nothing when I think I'm almost done, because if I'm almost done, I should obviously focus on finishing up, right? Right?
...
Anyway, from now on, I'll try to keep you more informed about what I'm doing, how long it's taking me, and why I'm missing my deadlines. Also, I'll try to keep a better eye on the comments section, and respond to more of your questions.
Lucrea is presented as a full-fledged person, with a variety of character traits. She's a hot-tempered, savvy, ambitious mass murderer who absolutely loves gold and sometimes flaunts her body. I often agree with the social justice crowd, but this particular game isn't "objectifying women." In fact, Lucrea is almost the only one who _isn't_ treated as a disposable object.
Yep this woman is very free. Breaks rules of Grandaeon. is Chaotic Neutral and many other things that make her awesome. Thanks for playing! edit: i mean chaotic neutral haha
Meridias: Your save file isn't permanently ruined when that happens. It's possible to recover, though if you spent close to 100% of them, it could take ages. Once you do recover, the game proceeds as if you hadn't made the error.
Some types of dice don't count against you if you roll a 1 with them. These include multiplier dice ("Attk x1-2"), attack > 1 dice, and health dice. All other dice are "risky" and can ruin your combo. In general, the best strategy is to use as many non-risky dice as possible, excluding health dice. Also, I've done the math, and it's best to stop after rolling five or six risky dice (they're equally good).
To the people complaining about the energy system: This game has one of the most lenient energy systems I've ever encountered. You don't actually *need* energy for anything, and it recharges in only an hour anyway.
Absorb may be the most broken thing ever, but dodge is surprisingly close. Put a dodge cloud on your square, and you'll dodge one attack per turn until it dissipates. Spawn blocks on top of dodge clouds, and the blocks are invincible until time runs out. Choose an attack that covers the squares around you plus your own square, and even the Archmage won't be able to touch you.
Maybe after each conversation, the most important dialog bubble should also show up in the level. That way, if they skip the tutorial, they'll still see the instruction to click on a group of blue bubbles.
It looks like you no longer keep your coins when you click restart, but that's not the only way to earn fast coins. If you buy three launch upgrades without buying any suit upgrades, it takes you nearly to zone 2, at which point you restart and keep your coins.
(I hope that made sense...) Next status update: September 14.
