Um... according to the map I have all the keys I can possibly reach, but I need a blue key to get to any more rooms that still have keys. Do I have to just start over?
Yeah, like everyone else said, hey, another launch game. Play it if you like those, otherwise whatever. I thought this one was put together pretty well, so I rated it good.
And for anyone trying to get the hard badge: don't use the best engine. I had an easy time with the 3rd best engine, the best fuel tank, and a habit of going for refuel pickups but avoiding the boost gates.
Amusing enough to play through, but the physics really bugged me. I frequently fell into pits because I tried to jump while going down a hill but was a fraction of a millimeter off the ground and therefore "in the air" and unable to jump. Or I would barely brush a block, but due to the lack of friction it would slide out of place, and sometimes into a corner where I couldn't move it out and had to restart. Also, I agree with Arkhimedean below that the ranking criteria seem really weird. Still, a good concept and pretty good execution.
Controls are just so frustrating. They work ok for the basic levels, but fail completely in levels with advanced features like portals/launchers/bombs... My base has a tendency to try and evade bombs by moving onto a conveyor belt, which sends it back into the target of the bombs. And if I try to tell it to go the other way, it refuses because it won't go towards the center of the bomb target area. Just getting my units to do anything I want and not suicide on terrain features is agonizing.
I can completely trash everything except the agent guys that don't start appearing until the last couple levels. Is there some trick to beating them? The difficulty curve kinda sucks... it's zero, zero, zero, suddenly really goddamn hard...
How do you deal with the Assassins? I never lost a gem until they appear in Level 6, then all my towers just miss them and they walk away with everything!
I can't quite put my finger on what, but it lacks something the first one had.
Also, the "don't hit anything" achievements are really annoying. They're what kept me from the last badge on the first one, and if this gets badges I won't bother with those either.
This has a slightly "first draft" feel to it, and I hope you work on it more, but it's already really entertaining and I gave it 5 stars! Hope you win the weekly!
The sound is just not synched up right when I play this. I do ok with it muted, but am constantly going too early when I try to play to the actual sound. (Fully updated Firefox & Flash, on Mac)
Um, your update with "better saves, I hope" erased my save. Nice work, there, chief.
Also, the stupid logo at the beginning is way too long. I really don't care what studio programmed this.
