with 'exchange x life for x cards' naturally I did not mean on a 1 to 1 ratio. But an option like 'discard all cards, get a new hand... costs a turn and you loose 7-10 life' would spice things up greatly

things that desperately need to be adressed for example: BETTER SANITY SYSTEM, discard / card change options, more cards, and options other than playing cards (skip turn for advantage, sacrifice X life to exchange X cards, etc) could make this game SO much more interesting! Also, adding some new cards won't hurt

hm I don't want to insult you, but imho you are focussing on the wrong things. Why add new options (challenges) when the games balance is not good yet? You have gotten some great (and some silly too, I agree) suggestions; use them! Some changes are good (dispel, powder), but toning down life cards, for instance, makes mediocre cards like dokter feel totally useless, and makes the already overpowered damage cards feel even better. Better adress some gameplay issues than add new gameplay modes! There still is a lot of work... oh and dawn of a new day suddenly feels more overpowered than ever :P

just a small comment to everyone that said this game is too easy: you probably had enormous amounts of luck. I really *really* like this game, don't get me wrong, but it is so random in dealing of cards that difficulties can vary. First time I finished the game without ever dying, everytime thereafter the game was challenging to the point of frustrating due to being dealt almost nothing but lousy cards. So don't say it's either too easy or too hard, because it is only based on YOUR experience of the game. Apart from that, still, awesome game!

final battle is very much possible. Build pairs of angels and dragons, spam hobbits (IMPORTANT: start spamming a while BEFORE you have taken down the enemy castle) When barraging arrows, make sure to hit the 'chest' of the end, or else some normal arrows will go through. And don't just mindlessly spam all the arrow keys, or computer will not react well in, for example, making hobbits as fast as possible.

There seem to be some bugs that I did not see before though: sometimes cpu's taint just dissapears for no reason (no taint removing cards played) and just now my opponent played an elder sign but did not get invulnerability :~

and again I notice small improvements in the art. Great how this game keeps being updated. From the first time I played but still worth mentioning: 5/5 and fav'ed!

After you wrote here that the card dealing is *really* random, I gave it another try. My opponent got, in a row: 2 dark rituals, the hound card, dark young charge, essence of the soul, another dark young charge, ANOTHER hound card... I could go on but I think the point is clear. Extremely bad luck? Perhaps, but then like 30 games in a row. Perhaps you could make it so that some cards (be they the really weak ones ore the strong ones) can only appear so many times after another?

I'd like to add that 1) I adore the kthulu mythos 2) I like these kind of games and are actually very good at them, I used to do magic tournaments and did quite well - and 3) I like games where the opponents are stronger than me because it adds a challenge and after all, a player can think and adapt better. In spite of this, I was only heavily annoyed the last times I tried this game (because I DO find it very appealing somehow) simply because the computer many a times seems to get the PERFECT card for EVERY situation. Thought I'd nuance my previous statement a bit. It's not like I am one of these spiteful players that badmouths a game just because he sucks at it. I'd REALLY look into the card dealing system because this could be such a wonderful game.

a POTENTIALLY nice game, if it weren't for the 'random' dealing of cards that does not seem so random. I cannot count the times my opponent gets the top cards EVERY turn and I am stuck with the crappiest cards in the game. Or the times when I have like 49 lives and my opponent has three, than not getting any damage cards and my opponent keeps getting life cards and major damage cards untill he kills me after all... First time I (with a lot lot of annoyances) completed the game. Now I tried to get through the fourth battle 7 times and failed through nothing but bad luck. Takes away all the fun

loved this game ever since I found it... 5/5 without a doubt - somehow, being a more simplistic, I like this one better than the second. One grudge though: it is easy to survive anything with just the first (maybe second) energy ball and all the powers, lots of points in energy. Soon as I mess around with the higher level energy balls, I tend to die =p Even with loads of point in stability

@ Kaischwier: for that very reason it is best to have two characters than can revive. Next time, try a warrior/cleric/conjuror/ranger combination, this will get you farther. The conjuror has more skills than his revive to help in siege mode: eldritch aegis basically reduces all incoming damage by 15% for the entire game, which is very valuable. His summons can really help too. Blood sprites can give that little extra healing and war golems are great for tanking. Good luck on your next try!

the comments by many people here, most particularly the reasons why people tend to hate this game, really make me doubt the intelligence of the average commenter here -_- Example: "First of all, the whole consept of four heros trying to save people is stupid, they should be trying to kill everyone." Now really, how can anyone write this kind of stuff and be serious about it, I wonder.

Yes it must be you since shop works perfectly here and on any other computer I've played it on. Second, conjuror is not a lame class, you are lame for caring only about points instead of gameplay. Have a nice day.

it adds 2 potions to your inventory... one increases your endurance and strength by 5 permanently, the other increases a characters dexterity and intellect by 5 permanently. (Which, needless to say, is quite good)

I really like this game, but it has a serious flaw... once the opponent (computer or player, even with using a custom deck) gets much more of the +1 income cards than you, it is mostly game over, especially when they get sorceries like no tomorrow and curse the hell out of you....
