Another small beef; don't say skin of stone increases element resistances when at it's highest level and every available point in defense it gives you a HALF PERCENTAGE of it... a HALF percentage, that's beyond trivial ><
Fun thing about the thorns build is that getting overwhelmes is actually what you want to happen ;) But I can see a full prowess build work real well. Ever considered rain of blows for bosses btw?
Then again, if it does, and if they will tone down chi mend like I think they will, reskilling to chi prayer and iron skin, with mend and frost ring will make it a great tank, especially once multiplayer is realized. No haunting scream of course, because then we want to collect enemies for dps trappers and pure prowess aoe'rs. I can see how that would make a valuable asset for any party :)
Though whilst writing my short guide, one question pops up. Will reaching a very high damage reduction make iron thorns totally ineffective at one point? Hmmm...
Let's talk builds :) My current one is a very simple one I dubbed the 'thorn priest' Built around the fortitude class, it's made to endure tons of pain while dealing tons of damage to large groups of melee monsters. Just make sure iron skin and thorns are activated all the time, chi mend as an active. Collect enormous groups of melee enemies and see them fall like flies, in meantime heal and use standard attack. Dump all levels into fortitude. Use medium armor (energy regen!) and preferably 2-handers for most dps (not sure the stun even works :~ Why no chi prayer? Better have our awesome burst heal for when the going gets though. Frost ring: low damage, buggy, energy intensive and we WANT those melees to hit us fast and kill themselves. Prowess and cunning damage skills need too much investment to be worthwhile. Curious to see what builds others run :)
Still not sure what exactly causes frost ring to bug out... it works fine but after activating 4 or 5 food items it doesn't do the animation and the entire game lags out completely. As it is now, my build is totally unplayable. A damn shame, please look into it :(
Some annoyances I run into after playing for hours on end; frost ring started glitching up since I have lots of visual effects on my equipment and I tend to draw big groups of enemies; animation does not show and the game lags like no tomorrow whenever I use it. Furthermore, why are the rare items out of stock? I saved up for some epic sword and now I can't buy it. I wonder what the reasoning behind that is. Also, chi mend is HEAVILY overpowered. I use it as an out on my second tab, with iron skin, thorns and frost ring on my first. Because that's a little more challenging and fun, however, I tried spamming chi mend and chi mend only and it's basically god mode - especially with medium armor. Seems a bit too much. But overall, still great game.
Been playing some more and I'm getting quite addicted, good job! Also, nice balance in challenge, doing overrun missions without allies is very fun indeed. For player friendliness sakes, I would like to see 3 changes though 1. Longer durations on the spirit OR being able to stack spirit times OR the possibility to hire a spirit during missions. 2. As mentioned before, longer duration on the passive skills OR a possibility (through items maybe?) to make their durations longer and 3. Most importantly, change that 3 tabs with 1,2,3 for skills thingie. I, and I think many will agree with me, rather just have the ability to put skills on 4, 5, 6 and maybe (though hardly nessecary) 7, 8 and 9. Or better yet (if possible to implement) custom hotkeys!
@ Pipikk, oh so far it's not hard, I just like to get an active in there cause spamming passives + auto-attack, well that would get boring quickly. If only there was a way to get the passives duration to last longer that would be very viable, do durations increase with lots of defense and additional skill levels?
Enjoying the game so far. Though from what I saw so far, an offensive build or even offensive hybrid (either full damage or, for example, that endurance class + cleave) probably has more potential than a full defense build. Now, one of the main reasons for this: energy doesn't seem to increase, and neither do durations of activated passives. Still trying to make a full defense build, my idea was iron skin + health regen + thorns activated most of the time, with the frost skill as an active, maybe coupled with cleave for extra life steal. This would be completely impossible without a way to boost energy and durations MASSIVELY to keep up all those passives, otherwise it would be better to just take an active offensive and spam that one. Any insights or ideas on this? Thanks in advance!
What is the point of having helmets with great armor values, with malus of decreasing dexterity/speed, when all they EVER aim for is your arm (when using 2-hander), your body, and 99% of the time, your leg?
@Rannen, it depends on the level of the Warlock, skills used and items found. And wether or not you have fel armor. Atm I'm 40-ish and a lvl 40 superior wand and shield are much more beneficial than a lvl 40 superior staff. Not only does it increase my health pool more, but drain life and death coil benefit more than that imp and shadow bolt suffer from it.
I love this game, but for crying out loud, fix regular attack and shadow bolt like attacks taking precedence over death coil when both are available! So many times I could kill an enemy and gain its hp (yes, WITH that enemy having low enough health), but kills it with a combination of shadow bolt and regular attack, or damages it causing me to not only lose potential health drain with death coil, but also wasting shadow bolts cooldown. It doesn't make any sense ><
Thanks for all the great feedback. The team will look into these issues and push repairs into future updates.
