Not sure if it is possible to kill The Apprentice or not. He showed up in a random mission and got stuck behind water, so I set the two mages to start blasting him for 13/26 points each (all four were very low level on a two-star hunt). Going to leave it overnight and see if I can kill him, since it's been 20 minutes already.
Agreeing with Zodart:
Adding another voice to the chorus, even though it's clear there won't be any fixes made. The game relies far too heavily on luck, especially when you're suppoesed to make it through so many levels. It's far too easy to find yourself in an unwinnable situation through no fault of your own, and that's a huge no-no in most video games where skill should be able to win out against the random number generator in most cases. Game would certainly be more fun with a save system, more reliable means of getting helpful tiles, ways to clear out bad tiles or misclicks, among many other needed features.
Needs an alternative to clicking to change lights, like numbers assigned to the lights or letters on the keyboard. Clicking makes it unnecessarily painful after a while.
Assassin that doesn't kill the guards first? Huh? Also, nice how they can see through walls. And the random nature of their movements makes it either really hard or really easy. Some preset patterns would be nice.
The game's difficulty scales much too rapidly. I couldn't get the skills necessary (as a rogue) to get better weapons, while even with the more money I received, I couldn't afford another upgrade to get more people in my party. Also, the sprites are really, really tiny and hard to shoot at. 2/5
PRO TIP: Buy a crapload of healing potions early while they're only 50 and 150. Have at least 100 by the time they jump to 2000 a pop. This will make later levels much, much easier.
Needs to heal your guy between rounds. Also needs better drops - the middle levels get really tough because nothing is dropping gold. The last three are too easy because EVERYTHING drops huge amounts of gold.
I'm rating this game 3/5 instead of 4/5 because of the controls. The mouse control is cool, but I tend to stay far to the left side of the screen. Every time I move a centimeter more to the left, my dude quits moving and I take 3 or 4 hits and die. The game needs to auto-pause when the mouse leaves the flash area.
