Magma Sword has the best sound that I've heard so far in the game. It sounds like a loop of some hardstyle/hardcore/minimal EDM song. Also at first I was going to write this game off but after a few levels I saw that each new level had a new enemy or object and began changing colors. I'm yet to finish it but I promised myself 45 minutes ago that I was just going to play one more level, then I played the next two, then the 6 after that. I'll give a 4/5 until I see how the ending is.
The game was actually a lot of fun. Very well balanced for a beta. I especially enjoyed that there seemed to be something new to do every so often so it never felt repetative. I was ready to stick two thumbs right up it's rear end until I reached the rear end. I've been grinding the same 6 quests for the last 2 in-game years and have killed the dragon and bought every possible upgrade and level but the king still destroys me each time. I'd really like to see this game through but the king is just too much. Perhaps some scaling back in that area would be ideal. Also the rare and unique units who's guilds kicked them out would be welcome more over time. I only saw two of them and they appeared after all of my heroes were level 6+ and none of the special unique heroes were worth the time and resources to power level. Otherwise it was great fun. 5/5
A comparrison must be made between this and Battle Paint and to me battle paint was better. Without any sort of permanent upgrades or ultimate goals I can't play this for more than a few levels at a time before I tire of it and go play something else. Another factor that impacts this, for me at least, is that, compared to battle paint, the splash and tire marks on the field deteriorate far too quickly. It's fun and colorful but not a game I'd be able to enjoy for long. 3/5
Really could use a mute button. The looping music and sound effects began grating on me. Also having more instructions about the controls would be nice. It took me several seconds of smashing every button on my keyboard to find out how to leave the game. 2/5. I feel like I could enjoy this if it were a bit more refined.
I'd like keyboard controls for the cannon. Sometimes I'll have a perfect shot lined up but I'll have to go up nd drag the cannon over to where I need it and I'll lose my spot. Otherwise it's pretty enjoyable. I like that every couple levels a new mechanic is introduced and the levels do not seem to duplicate to any noticeable degree. The sort of game I'll likely come back to later to see how it's getting along. 3/5
Thanks for your feedback, keyboard controls sound like a good idea, there are many levels that require precision shots in order to get 3 stars. I will keep that in mind for future games. Thanks for playing!
Oh but it's always right after I compliment a game that the bugs jump out and start to niggle at me. I have an empty space in my item bank and picked up a defensive wall but when I attempted to place it, the prompt showed "You may not place that structure there" And the wall disappeared.
I can't say that I like that the balls spawn at the end of the directional arrow instead of where they are displayed. Also I see that occasionally I have a guide line but what causes that? I enjoy the idea of this game but it seems very unrefined.
Wow I've been playing this game for two days and already I've seen improvement on the dev's side. Great job! I only just realized you also made one of my other favorite games here. Keep it up!
Cute but much too easy. Not unenjoyable however Just too short and too simple for my liking. Love the idea of having to draw your spells though. Makes it so you can not just spam a button, you have to time your attacks for best result. I'll give it a 3/5 because I liked it a lot but I feel it could do with some more content.
Checkpoints please! So many times on so many levels the difficulty curve would be all over the please, which is fine enough, but after being killed by the last wave of axe swingers for the 15th time and having to do the entire level over again I've begun losing faith in this game.
Wonderful! I'd only given this a 3/5 thinking it would be just another time killer, but here I am my 4th time back on it and I've moved that 3 up to a 5. Great game! Rather short though. I was just finally getting into it and it ended :/
Would be great if there were some form of upgrades available. Shields, armors, etc. Or if you do not like the idea of gameplay upgrades, then cosmetic ones. I'd like my ship to look like an Irkin Voot Runner.
Wow. I do not like point and click games like this but that was really well done. Very involving, very clever. So short though. I'd like very much to play the sequel. Right as my immersion was taking over and I was wondering what was going ot happen next it said to be continued. Was thinking of just 3 stars out of personal preference but since I liked it enough to finish it and I want to play the sequel, I'll do 5 stars.
Hello, did you try a few party combinations to battle the King? Players who can defeat the dragon should be able to defeat the King as well :)
