therickchu, the easiest setting is actually Realist. Reckless does not use weighted dice, they just make enough risky decisions that probability favors them. One game they rolled a 1,500+1,500,+8,000+2,000 and won on the first turn. Another game I did similar (though won on the third turn with three consecutive mega-rolls) Its all about playing the odds. Realist doesn't play the odds like Reckless does, and therefore only gets those crazy points once in a while.
Made it in 11 days with 7k to spare. Only buy artillery, use it as much as you want, it won't stop you from winning. The balloon things are easy to pop with a regular pin.
After playing through the game a few times I have a couple suggestions. Lower the difficulty curve a little bit, it gets really steep really fast and is difficult to develop a rhythm. Map the three paddle spots to keys, such as A, S, D (Left, Middle, Right, respectively). And the sound that missing a power up makes really throws me off. I'd recommend not playing a sound at all when you miss a power up.
While this game has beautiful artwork, for which I will give it a 4/5, it really really hurts my eyes! Some of the differences are too hidden amongst action and similar colors that you REALLY have to stare (ouch) to notice them. I like the artwork, but I really disliked having to find a missing leaf amongst dozens of other leaves, or navigating through so much movement.
This looks like a decent game.. but I REFUSE TO PLAY IT UNTIL YOU ADD A NEXT WAVE BUTTON. It take too long between waves, I feel like I'm wasting my time right now. Please add a button to skip to the next wave!!!
@ Calyad. Haha I didn't even realize the music was a 5 second loops. Now I have to mute it because it bugs me >.< @Devs. I did really like this game until I was told I do not have enough influence with my faction to complete the final quest. How many Shadow Runners do I have to slay to get 4 influence at a time before I get the quest!? Still a great game but I hope you aren't so sadistic to make me FILL my faction influence before I can complete the game...
Awards please? Easy Award "I've been bored for three weeks" score 500 points. Medium Award "Lying about my score" score 1500 points without moving your mouse.
Hah, screw it, its well designed enough and a lot of work was put into it that I'll give the full 5/5 just for doing such a good job. Still though, more variety of quests would be nice :)
Great game. Functional and easy to play, generally fun, but repetitive.. all the quests are essentially the same thing.. 5/5 fo sho if there was more variety to the quests, but 4/5 as is.
Its an old school classic. Those who have fine tastes in gaming will appreciate this for the nostalgic effect.
Only problem I have is that the bullets follow your movements. They should stay straight once fired.
Thanks for the game, mate!
All I have to say is....
I haven't played the game yet, but the pic on the front page is so well done that I felt compelled to post these koudos. From one artist (of not so graphical sorts) to another, this is the best looking artwork I've seen on Kong. I look forward to playing this game! Hopefully the graphic designer(s) notice(d) this comment, as it is directed towards them.
Those poor fishies being forced to live inside of pain.. Liked the first, liked the second. Good game, if you can keep the puzzles original, keep makin' em :)
Would be great if sandbox mode could automatically simulate the actual game. That way I could practice getting through level nine without needing an opponent capable of surviving that long. Would also be nice to enter sandbox mode without having to worry about another player joining and starting a game.
