Game is bad. Great premise, but there are much, much better shoot-em-up games than this. Add some different weapons in, maybe ones with spray burst to better handle the fast enemies, and I'd like it. As it is, this game is heavily unbalanced.
I really, really want to like this game, but the framerate is so choppy on my computer that I can't even play the game. It will lag and then I'll die because I didn't have the lightning-quick reflexes to jump over the pit I didn't even know was coming -_-
I keep trying to make myself play this game, but I have such a hard time doing so. I'm sure it is a great game, but as someone who rarely played the previous games, this is impossible to jump into.
I was initially frustrated with the final boss until I discovered how cheap the jump-kick spin was :) That was pretty easy after the fact. Jump, kick, kick, death. Jump, kick, kick, death. I went from losing 5 lives while killing him once, to reaching him with five lives and wiping the floor with him.
It's a pretty good platformer, it didn't stay the same the entire time, it forced you to adapt to new things. The barbs, moving death-blocks, tiny little red squares...although these things could very well be different objects, that's just how I saw them since I was a little rebellious :)
Either way, I still don't like these artsy games getting the attention they do. It's a great little experiment, and this platformer is certainly fun (as opposed to some of the other artsy games) but, in my opinion, games should first and foremost be entertaining before they're mind-grabbing. A game like this could have been better if the gameplay itself, was better fleshed out, if more of a story was added, if more substance was given. It's fine and dandy if you point to your monochromatic art scheme and call it "art", but not everyone is going to think of it the same way. 3/5.
I will never agree with these kind of games getting badges. The hard badge isn't "hard", it just takes a really long time. Same with the medium badge. They're both "easy" badges, they just require a lot of time investment that I'm not willing to deal with, and that's disappoints me because I'm a badge freak. Not to mention that people can essentially buy these badges with real money... it's just so lame.
Was pretty good until I was bugged out and couldn't move past a level because there was literally no escape. No trapdoor, no stairs, nothing. I also wasted 900 on a health potion only to have it turn into iron gloves when it was transferred to my inventory. WEAK. 3/5 for now, I really like this game but those glitches pissed me off.
Those features you "might" put in if we like this game? Kind of necessary in order for this to be a GOOD game. This game is pretty much crap right now, especially considering the fickleness of controlling the airplanes and the strategy used for taking out engines and guns and things. If you wanted to make this game better, you'd include a targeting system for specific plane parts to go along with plane upgrades and the like.
Lame. This artsy bull**** is clogging up the pipes and front page with stuff that is wholly uninteresting. If you want to make an impacting, meaningful story, then direct your own flash animation. Or, at the very least, submit your game to a website that specializes in artsy games. There's no substance, piss-ant story, and mediocre art direction. 1/5.
Okay, I have played this game on three different computers with four different keyboards on many occasions and it ALWAYS locks the left key down after I go through one of the portals in the second portal room. The fact that such a glaring flaw can go overlooked in this game is saddening and frustrating. 1/5.
