Athena's protection makes your units invincible for a short period of time. While phoenix strike is best for taking care of revenge waves, this, especially when combined with hercules strength is very useful on taking down titans and of course it is invaluable in dealing with the goblin in cave 5.

You don't kill the unkillable goblin. You just put in a couple of goblins and dwarven engineers in your group, wait near your starting area with your hero taking care of the trash till the others (preferably ranged like magic cannon, succubus, etc) have reached their maximum population and charge using athena protection right before encountering the unkillable goblin. Then in all probability the unkillable goblin would go right past your main force and be occupied by your newly spawned goblins and dwarves that advancing while your main force destroys the enemy castle.

Well the hardest part against Karnos was the start, lasting until Legion spammed fairy dust to drop his health and spirit to 0. However I saw that even with 0 spirit his fig and aether mass attacks can nearly decimate your party. The thing to do is to always have elwyen on runic rhapsody, and quickly hit him with a spell with gloria when he is either fig or aether as he will change element as a result. Although in retrospect, it took so much time to weaken him with legion, that it would have probably been quicker and easier if I did blood claw from the start to bleed him to death earlier.

Zumaki, oyu can get the kite shield in chapter 3 as well. They drop from fallen soldiers, who you can find at saul's house. I was curious about something else. Is it just for me, or does the astral harp give no magic defence bonus, despite saying it gave +10 in both the description and properties pages?

I just saw that a dreamstone I had gotten a while back hasn't been credited (the one in the lifewood dreamworld cave). It did seem a little suspicious that the orb remained lit up after I looted, but when I returned it was shut down so I thought everything was ok. Now I see that the orb hasn't been credited and that I cant loot the chest it was in. Anyone ever had this problem before, or any suggestions on how to fix it?

Seeing how the warding stone eliminated all the random battles in the sun temple made me curious. Are there any missables in this chapter? Items, artifacts or even encyclopaedia entries that become inaccessible after a certain point?

While the last method had worked nicely, if you are a perfectionist like me and dont want to have a single KO there is another way. Equip to everyone 2 agility +2 rings, and also the bandit leather and the +1 agility passive on Mardek since he has so low agility. Make sure everyone has at least 2 phoenix downs. With your beefed up agility everyone should be able to act before Morric. Have everyone throw a phoenix down on him. On his turn Moric will first summon the dromas, and then attack hopefully not killing you (he rarely killed anyone on his first attack, although having the evasion +20% for all my chars must have contributed). When he is done, have everyone throw a phoenix down on him for a second time and if you are lucky he should die and you will only have the dromas to deal with. If not reset and try again. While it has a lower chance of working than the method before, it is the easiest to do setup if you dont want to have a single recorded KO.

And a strategy for Morric. Morric had gone down relatively easy with Vehrn doing smites (make sure Vehrn has all the abilities equipped that let him deal extra damage to undead), Emela lighting bolts (since you cant dispel the magic shield Emela is not very useful in this battle and I had mainly used her to clear all but one droma), Deugan first barrier break and then power strikes and Mardek healing mainly. Now the trick is to not revive anyone because if you don't then he will waste a turn to zombify them. Then all you have to do is throw a holy water at the zombified member, or remove taint, and you will have a full health member back alive. After a while of pounding he should fall.

A strategy for all of those having trouble with the saviours. Have Emela cast flames on Vennie since he is weak against it. Aalia will probably cast shield on him or heal him, have Deugan and Vehrn attack her. If Aalia casts shield on herself, then have Deugan do barrier break (you can find nearby the sword that teaches it). If she casts it on Vennie ignore it and focus on her since vennie can be nearly killed with 2 flames. After they both are gone weaken Bartholio a bit, cause once you kill everybody else he will go into beserk mode and you might lose someone till you defeat him. Bernard should be a couple melee hits (he has a high magic resistance so have Emela deal with Bartholio after Vennie) till he drops. Mardek should be healing whoever is low from the enemy attacks, or if none is in dire need of a heal, have him do a party heal.

@ TheUltimaton: There is no level requirement to learn skills. Mardek cannot learn smite. The only reason that those abilities are in that weapon is because later you can get a paladin in your group, who uses the same type of weapon as mardek and can learn both smite+ and smite evil.
