How the (expletive) many hit points does this bloody thing have? I have stats in the thousands. (Not low thousands.) I'm doing damage in scientific notation. The guy is like a helicopter rotor. He doesn't even look like he's moving. He just sits there with the pick on the Geode and the Geode has an epileptic fit on it's tip. The "Damage this round" thing is flipping out. It's unable to decide if my score is positive or negative on a frame by frame basis. AND THE GEODE IS STILL STANDING! Galactus would have exploded by now. Double U, Tee, Eff?
I'm guessing the dev is aware that the game is designed so that you can not hit a target higher than the bottom third of the screen. Even so, one star.
So. You basically click... eleven times... and the game is over. Perhaps... This needs more work. I am currently unimpressed. Maybe Kongregate needs an area for unfinished games.
This needs a lot of work. Controls are terrible. The characters momentum seems to continue after re-spawn so multiple deaths are way too common. Disappearing floors require level restarts to reappear if you don't make it on the first try. (L9)
Auto requires manual start each time the ball is dropped. Initial paddle speed on auto is so slow it almost guarantees dropping the ball after knocking out one brick. (If that many.) Escalating cost of BB's for paddle speed is rather steep, making the automatic portion of this game way to much work to get started for something advertising itself as an "idle" type game. So, we have a rather bland break out game. *shrug* Perhaps an adjustment of marketing.
Thank you for your well thought out comment. I can do some tinkering on the idle paddle price, I wanted to have manual control be a bit of an advantage at the start as a reward. Also, if you go to settings there is an auto launch feature. I apologize that this is not more clear.
Aaaaaaand now it never finishes loading. Worked this morning. Doesn't now. I guess you can't know what the picture is and see it at the same time. Very Douglas Adams.
If you're still having this issue, please try with Chrome. This should fix the problem, otherwise try downloading the game at http://www.indiexpo.net/it/games/oh-i-m-gettin-taller
The computer version is more reliable.
We are working to fix the issues with the web version.
While sitting at an odd angle because of the clutter on my desk... it occurred to me that it might be nice for left handed folks if the up and down arrow keys mirrored the W & S keys.
Up and Down arrows are very risky because they are pressed too frequently and new players might change the "buy amount" without even knowing! Most people press them when they are trying a new game just to see if they do something at all, but the "Buy Amount" changing might not be noticed and suddenly they are playing the slowest idle game ever ;)
