Entertaining and fun, great style, bit too easy and short. Only real downside is that it slows down a lot when you get a lot of balls on the go. Anyone who's played Pwong 2 should find it pretty easy to keep 20 balls in play :)
The one player game was pretty easy for a die hard Ramparts fan like me. The levels go a bit samey... they could do with being much larger with more towers on them, I often had loads of time to waste after I'd finished repairing my castle. Still, this is a great implementation. Hopefully I'll get the chance to give multiplayer a go. Any takers?
Cool, Ramparts! It's taking me a while to get used to all the keys (I wish you could rotate with the mouse wheel!) but I can see myself playing this through to the end.
Fun game although there's a little unpredictable behaviour by the blocks... Some really odd stuff was happening on level 14 which I found pretty confusing.
Very well programmed shooter let down only by the design of enemy attack waves. A lot of the time you're in no real danger and you feel like a cosmic janitor cleaning up the level. It gets worse when the enemies start avoiding your bullets; it doesn't make it harder to stay alive, only more irritating to play.
I'd love to play a sequel with these problems addressed, tho! Oh, and the tune could be longer as well :)
The endlessly creeping bad guy is a pretty bad idea, I think... you have to creep forward against it yourself, which is very easy and very boring. Aerial attacks and SAMS add nothing. Building your initial base on a couple of the levels requires a little thought; the rest of the game should be more like that.
Sigh. Here's a crazy idea for game developers: instead of including a tech tree and experience points in your game, why not just BALANCE THE LEVELS IN THE FIRST PLACE.
