...where did the last 7 hours of my life just go? :P Seriously, this is one of the most incredible browser-based casual games I have ever seen. Love the constant patches and fixes!
I can't believe how many times you've made me play this game. It's so addicting it's absurd. :P I also appreciate that you update it so often, though I never found anything wrong with it, even in V.1a
This may seem like an odd bug report, but there doesn't seem to be any way to select from tiers higher than first tier in the talent tree upon level up. I picked Reinforced Arrows from all three elements, and nothing from tiers 2-4 was allowed even when I had three talent points.
Hoo, boy, where to start. This game perfectly sums up everything that sucked about Flash gaming in 2008. The collision detection desperately needs to be looked at by someone who has at least once heard of someone who once had a cousin who had a former roommate who once saw someone program Flash. And the controls lag so badly it's like playing Q3A on a dialup modem. Still, I suppose I can't *completely* fault the author for the tech available at the time. Still, yeah, pass.
A whimsical and *very* well-polished distance game. However, I have to agree with Debauchee about the style of upgrade system used here. Burrito Bison is a good example of combining the two styles (global/permanent upgrades, along with upgrades to random boosts).
Still, you get extra points from me for including a full-screen mode. That seems to be excessively far too rare in games.
Heh heh. Okay, I'll give this one a five. The challenges were creative and many actually challenging (I cussed out the Boomerang one several times over), and the ending ... okay, it was memorable. I think you may have overdone it with the sappy aspect of the robot. That said, nice one. Cheers.
It's definitely a fun game, but item drop balance seems to be a little out of whack. I just finished level 45, and I have still only gotten exactly *ONE* purple item, a Robotic Outfit that I got from my very first boss fight at level 5. There has never since been a single purple drop from anything since. That could probably use looking at.
There seems to be a glitch on level two (the farm). When I had two workers there, and then bought the upgrade to unlock the third slot, the farm stopped producing any food whatsoever -- the little icon continued to rise on occasion, but no food was added to my stores. I called the next wave early for the bonus food, and so was able to create a third worker to send in, but only that third worker produced any food at all.
It's definitely fun to relive the early Diablo years; there's also some serious bugs right now (I wasn't seeing a version number anywhere, but it's 3 PM EST as I write this). The i hotkey for inventory doesn't seem to work at all, and the saving seems to be extremely wonky. I accidentally clicked on a bookmark in my toolbar as I was in the middle of the dungeon, and the dungeon (level 1) got reset, with MUCH stronger mobs. But worse than that, when I went back to town, my CHARACTER got completely reset. And there is now no Continue option (which is the option that I used when I returned to the game after accidentally leaving it).
I do actually want to comment on this game, but direct evidence shows that Kongregate.com has not been updated since 1999, and is therefore not capable of being able to host or display any comments which are longer than 1,000 characters. A bit of a shame, as I actually really *wanted* to comment on this game - that's kind of why it was over 1,000 characters. Ah, well. Good luck to ye!
You know, while many of the complaints about last year's Rocket Santa game were in fact valid, I still enjoyed playing it through to the end. As such, I was a bit geeked about this sequel.
I stopped being geeked -- or even giving a crap -- when the first and only 6 spins of the wheel (that is to say, 100.000000%) all resulted in Sweet Nothing.
I may perhaps be doing something very wrong. For example, trying to play this game on Kongregate. Or, trying to play this game, period. I'm really not sure at all. Either way, current interest is somewhat south of my interest in doing time in a Turkish prison.
All venting aside, you guys *USUALLY* make pretty fun games. Learn from your mistakes, and rock on.
Seriously one of the best Bullet Hell games I have ever played. I *love* the hitbox (IMO, that tiny of a size is really only fair), and while the game *is* quite challenging, it's not impossible. Well, other than Atropos, obviously. I'm actually sure that it is entirely possible to beat him with multiple different strategies. It's just that, well. Son of a gum-chewing funkmonster. Seriously. Anyway, my only true complaint (not really a complaint) would be to add more music, and maybe add an additional option to the playlist controls that has the CPU decide what song to play when (something rapid-fire and heavy bass for when you're being swarmed by a ****ton of normal mobs, or something more grandiose for the boss fights). And the massive array of options, both for pimping your ship, and also game settings. 5/5 (One more thing: can you please at least post some kind of tips for dealing with Atropos? Seriously, it's like I'm some sort of schlock receptacle.
Loving the music (though it is a little repetitive), loving the concept. I do however get kind of frustrated with the controls. Having to first raise the tower for the weapon I want to use, and then having it be autofire on a specific location just feels really clumsy to me. For me personally, I would want to consider either automatic-targeting for the rocket and chaff, similar to the laser, or just switch out entirely. I mean, making it THE weapon when I select it, as opposed to being set to autofire on a specific spot. That all might need some rebalancing vis-a-vis the health, speed and armor of the demons. Just my take on it all. I'm a big fan of tower defense, and this game definitely shows promise.
The randomness seems maybe too random (if that makes any sense), but the game is still quite fun and addicting. I'm going to go ahead and add my vote for character improvements based on character levels gained, rate this one 5/5 and look forward to the sequel. There is definite promise here for a fun time-killer.
This is a fantastic, beautiful game. Seriously, one of the best Flash games I have yet ever seen, at least when it comes to platformers. I've had all kinds of fun with chaining combos, especially against multiple opponents. This is an amazing piece of work. It's an amazing piece of art. It strikes me as being highly inspired by Samurai Jack, in particular the awesome Samurai vs. Ninja episode from the last season, but that is no criticism whatsoever. Thank you very much, Daniel-san.
Myself, I rather had fun with this game. Though I'm not sure why people are having lag issues. I played it fullscreen (accessing the .swf file directly) on Fast setting, and the only time I had any issues was when there were large numbers of enemies onscreen, many of them shooting or swooping around, and falling and leaving behind acid or whatnot. The endgame got rather tedious, however. Maxed-out chaingain and flamethrower, and still having to pour several metric WTFtons of damage into the wizards. Still, an enjoyable fragfest all around.
That aside, if you (all?) do make a sequel, I would highly suggest making a 'note magnet' feature part of the game. Either as a separate upgrade like the guns / maneuverability / defense, or maybe as a function of upgrading the maneuverability (like how upgrading the power of the Zeusaphone also upgrades its range).
Actually you know what? Now that the controls have been fixed, I'm gonna have to go ahead and give this one a 5/5. Not having to hold the mouse button down actually makes this a joy to play, at least for me. While nothing here is really new, many things are at least presented creatively. Though for some reason, I kept expecting the sound of me picking up the music notes to turn into a protracted version of the theme from Beverly Hills Cop. It did not, but I am not disappoint (much). Yes, it does feel a bit short, as has been commented before, but come on guys, this is a casual game, the creator(s) probably do not make all that much money off of it, even with a big name sponsor like Kongregate. Bottom line, I enjoyed this game quite a lot -- I had beaten it and played through the Survival mode many times over before the controls were fixed. For me, this was a great game, and I look forward to any sequels.
This is a very fun game, however it really, really needs an option for mouse control. Not necessarily one where you move as fast as the mouse does, maybe just have your goo move towards the mouse cursor's location at the same speed it does with keyboard control. But by the time I got to the 6th level my fingers were aching, and got me killed.
Thanks for the comment!
