Not a *bad* game, but not very great. As noted already, Treasure Seas did it better, and that was several years ago. Far too simple, and no acknowledgment when you beat it.
3/5
This was a fun game, right up until the CPU starts miscalculating battles on a regular basis. It's a bit odd because it comes right out of nowhere. All battles up until this point were properly calculated (IE, 12 units of orcs and harpies are not capable of defeating 12 units of dwarves). Then all of a sudden 10 units of orcs/harpies defeat 11 units of my dwarves, who ALSO had a fire dragon defender? Fail.
The potential is definitely there for a fun and engaging game. Sadly, the creator has not figured out how to balance the attackers and the defenders, most especially when it comes to the gold rewards.
3/5 It's not a horrible game, it's actually fairly fun up to a certain point. It's just not balanced worth a ****.
While I loved and played the **** out of the original, and I do like the changes in this version, the inability to control the ship with the mouse really kills it for me. If that were made an option then I would definitely give this game 5 stars.
Wow. I don't think I've seen a game this broken in a long time. Half of the Achievements are completely broken. The "digging deeper" achievements all work, but none of the collecting achievements work at all. No matter how many of everything I collected the achievements would NOT trigger.
$122,000 gets me a leaky canoe?
You fail programming forever.
This seriously has to be the single best Flash-based shooter I have yet seen, ever. The music is fun, the graphics are simple and clean, the action is tight and the ship and weapon upgrades are awesome. I'd give it 10 stars instead of 5 if I could.
Unfortunately it's broken in Firefox 3.5.2 on Windows XP Pro. It gets as far as 'loading apis' and then just sits there forever. Tried disabling AdBlock Plus (I've had that interfere a couple times in the past, but very rarely) but nothing changes.
This game is outright beautiful, very well done for a 'casual' game. As for the gameplay, I think it fits very well with classic console platformer games. Maybe there could be some more 'options' but those aren't truly required. Frankly, I give this game a 5, simply because it truly is in the top 10% of Flash games out there.
So... pressing the Play Game button gives me... a blank blue screen! That's awesome, you've made a lot of progress. Come back when you actually have a game!
Amusing, but the level where you have to duck the assassin's bullet is broken. After **successfully** hitting the arrow and watching the bullet **fly overhead**, it tells me I got killed. Apparently this guy uses the same kind of bullets that killed JFK.
2/5 for brokenness.
