Part of what made it so good was the "labor of love" the player him/herself has to go through just to BEAT it.. Thank you for giving old and new gamers alike the opportunity to feel that truly unique feeling one only gets, when beating an NES game.. That special mixed sense of pride, adrenaline, happiness, and accomplishment.
If you listen to the tune when your playing VERY closely, I swear, you can hear what sounds like a baby/kid crying/whining in the background very quietly, especially around the 2nd part.. I swiped the tune and was listening to it in deep thought for a while when I noticed it myself.
Tip for the developer: Don't make the music a little louder to compensate for the lack of variety in the sound effects, just make more sounds effects, like for example: Monster death, projectiles hitting walls, player jump, hurt, and death sound effects.. It made the game seem kinda hollow.
I like this idea, instead of just instantly taking over a place it makes gradual battles on the planet that strongly resenble AA flak or fireworks.. 4/5 for creativeness.
2/5 for the "inevitable doom" factor ruining the game all-over... Sucked in the first game, sucks even harder in the sequel... This game is like a horror movie with a bad ending.. There's just no up side.. It's all bad...
-1 for lack of creativity, and -1 for dev having track record of lacking creativity.. Usually devs might dip a few times but this guy just stayed at the bottom... 1/5
I was gonna rate this a 3/5 but for some reason the nyan cat tune mysteriously made me click the 4th star... Oh well.. I don't wanna go back on a rating, that'd be rude...
This guy gets it!
