The game is okay but the level design is ass. It feels like going into a level editor browser and sorting by new. Seriously no thought was put into them or their challenge and they're extremely condescending. On top of that the game needlessly employs some mobile market pandering tactics. 2/5
Controls, game feel, and frame rate are pretty bad. It's carried really hard by the concept and of course that doesn't really have an ounce of originality. Despite that it's not the worst thing ever and is decent to play.
Very technically sound and well put together, but honestly the level design is really bland. The puzzles and platforming are very basic and the mechanics never play off each other in any meaningful ways.
Nearly forgot about this game, surprised I hadn't favorited it before. Pure skill, no upgrades, grab as many gems as you can while listening to a fantastic chip tune loop. This is the pure gameplay experience that most flash games today lack. 5/5
Nice weighty attacks and pretty animation. Pretty much everything else is awful. Incredibly barebones hit and run mechanics that devolve into infinite and boring kiting. It's also yet another game that completely ruins rewarding player skill in favor of grinding for money and exp. You literally cannot beat each area until you grind enough, otherwise your weapons are wet noodles and your character is made of paper compared to the enemies. 2/5
The block based building idea has potential, but this is pretty darn boring as an actual game. It prioritizes upgrades over game mechanics and as a player you hardly have to do anything. 2/5
The cheats and handicaps in place of a traditional upgrade system is brilliant and balances the game very nicely. It's a pretty competent bullet hell otherwise as well. 4/5
"Tap the bandit" HAHAHA, I knew it. From the second I saw the beta message I knew this was going to be some microtransaction laden mobile garbage. What a great idea Kongregate, invite your highest level veteran players to the beta of your newest freemium garbage and expect them to not see straight through it. You let Gamestop drag this site to shit, I saw this coming years ago. RIP in peace Kongregate.
It's some technically well executed 3D for a Kongregate game, but as a game, it's really really basic. It's incredibly grindy and has practically no interesting sandbox systems or interactions that should be the backbone of this sort of game. You either grind asteroids or grind pirates, there's nothing else to the game at all.
Alright game, but really poorly balanced. There's a sudden difficulty spike at world three and you physically cannot win until you grind more, at least with the skills I have. Someone in the comments says Frigid Blast is OP, so perhaps if I had that it wouldn't be difficult. Which just goes to show even more the poor balancing, when one skill tree is vastly better than others.
This game is almost really great, but there's one critical flaw (at least up through act 1, I haven't gotten further than that, so forgive me if it's fixed later). There's no incentive to go quickly, and skills only recharge over time. This means that there's no reason not to just wait around for your skills to recharge after every single fight. It vastly reduces the strategy involved and the difficulty of the game when you always have your abilities up.
Very good point and click. The puzzles weren't obtuse or stupid, and what's best, they weren't all mandatory. The time mechanic and defense building mechanics were great, making success based off of what you can solve in a certain amount of time. I bet trying to get all the endings is pretty annoying though, I'm not even going to try. 4/5
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment.
