It's pretty good, love the cartoony graphics, but god awful music. I have yet to use the full rocket shoes tank without hitting something and losing all my fuel, really annoying. Is there any relevance to vector speed as opposed to only forward moving speed? Hard to judge how fast you are moving forward. Some great upgrades though, and fun gadgets. Gets really laggy for me though, new PC too. 3/5 from me. I'll bump it up to 4/5 if you preserve the rocket shoes fuel when you hit something so you can use it again.
Do you guys at least smoke test the game after an update? Like many others posted here, I can't place units either. This was fine last night, pressumably before you dropped in your update. Gotta fix your QC process!
@Asmodean72 It's actually not a bug, I thought it was too at first. The higher the round, the less your units can be sold for. In the very last round, units are finally then sold for nothing. My guess it's so that as the final boss is making is way through, you can't sell your units behind him and stack up a bunch of fully upgraded units at the exit. Would make the boss too easy then. Smart design actually.
This is a great update to the game. Lots of features that would have like to had earlier, but better late than never. I only hope that people who low-rated this game previously will grade it up higher now. Nicely done! And for those asking about level 8, I posted links to screenshots earlier.
Level 8 Screenshots: Here is a series of shots laying out how I beat level 8:

In the first image, I numbered the order of placement, since it's more important in the first few levels.
On the very last level, make sure you have the rock bomb and firecracker ready to hit the two bosses.
You will take damage even with this strategy, so expect it. Also note, I took the screen shots from when I was playing with the weapons purchased after you beat level 8, so it was easier for me this time and I didn't take as much damage. Still, I used the same basic strategy to beat it the first time. Hope it helps.
Level 8 Solution: Tamers and archers only. Space them out and upgrade evenly, giving more preference to upgrading archers. Make sure you have the big rock and firecracker ready for very last two big guys. Would be great to call these things by their proper names, but the lack of flyover help doesn't help. Developers: Don't release an UNFINISHED game. You get unecessarily low ratings due to missing features for what would otherwise be a great game, and your averaged out rating will never recover, even after you update/fix.
Oh man, I'm so tired of reading comments from all the babies on here. WAH WAH!! I can't beat level 2.5!! Mummy fix!!! I'm giving this game a 1/5 because I'm too stupid to figure out one level! For crying out loud, LOTS of people have beat this game. Giving it a low score when there isn't a technical issue or design issue, only your own ineptness for beating the game, is childish. Especially when I see on lots of other games "Too simple. I used the same build strategy to beat every level...". Well, now we have a game that DOESN'T do that, actually does require you to think and use different strategies, and so many people are whining. There are a lot of great posts from other users here that give plenty of info on how to beat various levels. Use it instead of crying to the world! Please note, I'm not referring to those just saying they are having trouble with a level and asking for tips, that's different. I'm talking about those throwing tantrums and rating the game low.
For level 2.5, svngpvtry has the best strategy. I just tried it and it worked better than the way I did it. Keep placing fusion cores and upgrading them. It's a short while before the first enemy, so you have time to do this. As soon as you see the first enemy, then place a Gauss cannon immediately to intercept. Make sure you keep some room between your cannons and the staion so you have room to place more fusion cores. Try to get a cannon and each of the four diagonal corners initially, then keep building them until you have a circle of them around your station, all the while adding more fusion cores. I also inserted a few freezers behind the cannons here and there as well. Don't forget, you can place equipment when the game is paused.
I didn't have any real problems with the episode 2 levels. Combination of auto guns/heavy lasers and freeze rays (very crucial) while gradually increasing resource production on the 2-5 level that many people are having problems with. However, the episode 3 levels were a real let down. After building up a nice array of offensive weapons, the first five of them are all replaced with the exact same alien spawners! The icons are the same, and each cost different amounts of resources, but they all create the exact same thing with the same capabilities. It will happily consume 100/100 resources for an Auto Gun, but still create the exact same spawner as it does if you create a basic laser for 75. Am I missing something? This seems like a real logic flaw to me, or maybe planned enhancements that didn't make it into this version. Sorry, but have to drop my rating from 4/5 down to 3/5 because of this.
omg, how can you post such a great game, and then aggravate anyone who plays it by not saving their progress? Please, you have to add/fix this, especially if you want badges. I am absolutely loving this game in the mean time.
I would love you give this game a 5/5, but can only give you a 3/5 and don't have the funding to give you the extra points. If you could send me some kreds I'd be more than happy to enhance my rating to 5/5, since your biggest complaint is lack of 5's. Don't forget to label the kreds you send as "funding to accomodate lame panhandling for ratings".
Does a great job on a lot of things that other games ignore: music mute, proper hot keys, well laid out tech tree. Love this game. BUT, what possessed you to implement a level cap at 45? I'm half way through the game, and when I realized that, I have a lot less incentive to finish. One other minor thing, some of the skills seem kind of the same i.e. this one gives you extra damage, and oh, this other one gives you, um, even MORE damage. Bit of duplication. Otherwise, lots of great effort went into the game and it shows. Please drop the level cap :-(
Difficulty is ridiculous. Even on easy sandbox, if you don't put all of your upgrade points into speed, you're dead by level 10. Who really gets a thrill about upgrading their speed all the time? Could be a real fun game if it wasn't so punishing.
:D
