I completed hardcore mode when the game was just released. Back then, I did it without using checkpoints. That caused me quite some trouble. It is doable, but it's pretty hard. Upon reading the comments, I decided to give it another try, this time with checkpoints. Hardcore isn't nearly as hardcore with checkpoints as without. Without even using an optimal path, I ended up finishing the game with 8 hearts and 10 health potions left (I'm pretty sure you can finish with at least 11 potions left). At no point did I have a shortage of potions, the least amount I had was 1 or 2 at certain sections in the game (first few floors excluded before you actually have any at all). You can really mess up quite a bit before things become impossible. Without using checkpoints, I ran out of potions several times and path optimization was really important. Conclusion: if you don't want to make your game experience hard: use checkpoints! Fantastic game btw! Love the game-play and the whole game!
It seems fun and well-build, but if the precision required for moving around were as high in real life, the human race would have long since gone extinct. :D
Hardcore definitely had me stumped for a while, I kept being short 1 heart for being able to finish the game and couldn't figure out where I had messed up, until I tried a completely different approach for the ending. Suddenly it all came together and I too as others ended with 7 potions, 8 hearts and so on...
In fact the lowest I came near the 'hard part' was over 4 full hearts of health remaining, so in theory, you can make at least 6 to 8 more 'mistakes' than I did. The clue is selecting the right moment to brute force yourself to the 'sword of pwn-age' or however you want to call it.
The game itself is quite pleasant as usual. The spelling and grammar however still don't hold up to scrutiny. In fact, you could make a detective game out of finding all the spelling and grammar mistakes in these games. It's not as bad as the last one, but still...
Just let the script be proofread by someone who actually knows proper English. Shouldn't take more than half an hour to get everything corrected if you only have to read and correct it instead of playing through the whole game. There are lots of people playing these games, lots of children who don't yet know how to properly spell everything or use the correct grammar. By presenting wrong usage, the game could actually hinder these people's efforts in learning proper English. I won't state that my English is perfect, but I can identify errors in the text every couple of lines. If you asked, I'd guess someone would even do it for free, or better yet, ask someone at Kong, since they are sponsoring...
Very cool game, but the difficulty varies a lot depending on the class you choose. For optimal results I can recommend ranger, this one seems to have an easier time than the others.
I do enjoy the series, but someone really REALLY needs to proofread these lyrics. This game is overflowing with massive amounts of spelling and grammatical errors and even mistakes in meaning... It's terrible...
The game lags like hell when there's dozens of critters in view. I genuinely did not enjoy this game at all. If I could rate it -1 I would. There's really only one thing that could make it worse and that's micropurchases, I must say I'm absolutely stunned it's not prominently featured in there.
I don't see why this many people are complaining this hard. I enjoyed he game. I didn't find any level significantly harder than any other, a few are a bit easier, but that's the nature of the game. There are some issues with the randomness of the spawns, but again, that is the nature of the game. The game wasn't too hard or too random, every level can easily be completed in at most 10 tries.
Any game that requires me to play the exact same level multiple times just to make the level expectations of the next level automatically gets a 1 star rating from me.
I can only say one thing: HATE! Doing the exact same thing 500 (yes, exaggeration seems to be the thing here, so...) battles in a row is NOT interesting gameplay. I actually liked most if not all the previous games, this one however, is terrible in my opinion. If it wasn't for the badge, I wouldn't even have touched it, we'll see how much annoyance I can take for the badge... Seriously, 1 star is too much for this.
I've been playing this game for over a month now, I still stand by my earlier assessment. Luck is the prime factor in this game, everything else comes second. Factors for success for this game, in order of importance: 1. luck; 2. real live money invested; 3. time invested; 4. player's own skill; as you can see, this is no game for people who want a challenge for their brain, this is a game for people with lots of time and money and nothing better to do. Enjoy!
This game seems to be for 90% based on luck, how long you've been playing and how much you've spend on it. The other 10% is skill. In other words, you can just beat everything based on luck and time and money, skill is not an issue to be concerned with. If you do expect skill to give you a significant advantage, you're going to get very disappointed because no amount of skill can overcome bad luck, money or time invested. Other than that, if you like collecting worthless on line items that aren't really yours after you've collected them, this is a game you'll actually enjoy, because plenty of things to be collected and researched if you've got oodles of time.
nevermind that, it seems i ran into this issue before and specifically added this game to the cookie-exception whitelist in chrome, still fail though, why the heck does it need browser cookies from a different domain to function...
"Setup has failed: loader bypassed" - same issue in 3 default browsers, I try chrome, which is actually set up to allow nothing, full blown ad, tracker and cookie blocking: it works... fail!
