@ manifest man: Heard of using it while the opponent has Taint, or possibly even Megalomania? And the computer doesn't always discard the worst card. I often see a card it discards and think "Retard computer, that is a useful card for your situation".
@ Furley: Don't moan because you suck at this game. If you want an easy game, play You Have To Burn The Rope. No it doesn't give the computer the card it needs. Sometimes the computer acts like a total retard. It's up to you to find out what will beat the computer.
@ Kazuka: Don't moan because you suck at it. If he heals too much, deal more damage, or taint him. If he taints you, use Blessing of Hastur, or play an Elder Thing. Strategy is important; it always defeats brute strength. Use it wisely, and don't moan if you lose - you will sometimes.
"---AlexDude--- (rant) ITS BLOODY CTHULU!!! If you've ever read Lovecraft then you would know that you NEVER have an advantage, and moreover... its inevitable to be screwed into oblivion while being barking mad at the same time. (/rant)" How true.
@ Jehosephat: I'm guessing it's something to do with you actually having to play attack cards instead of just stacking Taint on your opponent and waiting for him to die.
@ amertune: When you say it goes to the next round, do you mean it's your turn?
If you do, that's how it's meant to be. When you play it, then your opponent discards, it's your turn - this is your chance to play another card. Play resumes as usual afterwards. When your opponent plays it, you discard, then he plays - then it's your go as usual.
Some tips:
Blackmail is particularly effective if your opponent has high Taint, or has Megalomania (+3 Arcane and +3 Taint per turn).
Mi-Go surgery works well if you have no Arcane.
Use a weak attack, or one that ignores Invulnerability if your opponent is invulnerable. Alternatively use Dispel if you have it.
Discarding cards voluntarily (ie not through Blackmail) rewards you with the Insanity cost of the card.
Using Elder Thing, then switching to a stronger creature is effective in building defence.
Never use a healing card if it would bring you above your maximum health, unless the opponent is stacking up Arcane (into the twenties at least).
@ hakamashakallama: Now that would be good! I think it would work best with Barbarian - they can't wield anything in their shield hand. It would also work well with Warrior.
@ Ranger04X: 1: why? no need. 2: if you suggest it to garin maybe it might be one of the skills for a new class in the next one. 3: um yeah you can. it's called putting on armour. 4: um yeah you can. It's the Barbarian skill Jostle. If you lack strategy and find the need to change positions then you fail. 5: why? Six spaces is perfect for the party size of four. And if you increased it, you'd have to face more monsters.
@ grimgroove: you MUST have faced a queen to have faced a razor queen. To face the razor queen you need to have a complete bestiary (ie met all glooples)
Simple: +1
Choice of controls: +1
Sometimes end up in an impossible situation: -1
Overall 4/5. Pretty good game. Well done!
Tips: stay around the middle of the screen. When you get something tall(like a tree), press left as you jump, then press right to clear the tree. Just jump over rocks. If there is a helicopter that's moving up and down, just walk under it, timing it with left and right.
