Dog moves too slow: -1
Keyboard controls are relative to the dog, but the mouse control is relative to the screen: -1.
Giving the option of keyboard or mouse control: +1.
Constant challenge: +1.
Overall 3/5. Pretty good. Needs tweaking though. Make the dog faster, give the option on keyboard of movement relative to the dog or the screen, and this could be a great game.
Let me clarify. You can grenade/box gun a gloople as much as you want *so long as the killing blow is dealt by your sword*. Otherwise the award won't be awarded.
@ Sikesalicous: For a game to get 5 stars, EVERYBODY who rates it has to give it 5 stars. Obviously you will get people who moan, eg "it's not fair the blob killed me 1/5". This drags it down. So no game can truly be 5 stars. But IMO this comes pretty close.
People, stop rating it 1/5 just because you think it has no online play. It does. First read the instructions - deliberate feature to make sure you read the instructions. Then go on quickstart under online play. Simple.
3/5 - the fact that the balls spawn in the middle - the same place where you close the message box that keeps appearing before each level - makes it harder than it should be to complete a level.
I won by saving up for the ions, then spammed war machines, while saving up for super soldiers. Spammed blasters, with some super soldiers. War machines brought in the money. Blasters took the damage, pressed towards the enemy base and super soldier won me the game.
5/5; definitely needs multiplayer.
I'd like to see in the next Protector game an anti-TD, where you send out units to besiege the monsters dungeons. I think it would make a nice twist and also be innovative, like Protector and Protector 2. That's my 2 cents.
@ so0meo0: You are in no position to criticise the game, as you admit to having only played the first two levels.
You cannot say that the enemies are all the same. There are many more enemies out there, in the levels beyond the second.
As for skill points, they're designed to help you gradually as you advance through the game. This is because levels get harder.
Don't talk bull. This game is one of the best I've played. At times, I fail at a level time and time again, I admit. There's more than one way to do something, and that's what this is about. Just because you suck at the game doesn't mean the game is crap. If it is explain why it is rated at 4.39 (original) and 4.33 (sequel).
Explain why that in the 175 days the original has been out it has had over 3.7 million gameplays (over 20000 plays daily), and that this has had 80000 gameplays in the mere two days it has been out (40000 plays daily).
Glitch: I was in Aspenwood, hadn't closed off the 'intro' diary entry. After the day's results came in, I closed off the diary, and the day restarted - hence I doubled up on resources and repairs.
