Great game, but it should be possible to kill the ninja leader. I had his bar completely red - didn't get a "surprise" like you said. I think if you get him that low he should run off and your stones get upgraded to double their bonuses.
Actually I mean't him stabbing you as the surprise. Heh, I didn't really expect anyone to try and kill him! As he regenerates pretty quickly too. If I ever make a sequel though, I guess he will be killable there.
Okay....I'm not sure if this is a bug, but if it is then it is major. I got the mage leader (blonde chick) to join my party, and after that I got the leader of the Alliance to join me...but he replaced the mage chick (she is gone) and I can't find her where I got her in the jungle.
After beating the game I'd say the main problem is that it is too "bullet helly" at spots. In particular the beam weapons can be a bit OP. Because of this there really needs to be a way of improving dodging/getting out of trouble other than the one-shot use eldritch rune things. As it stands you really have to grind a bit to beat the game. More upgrades would be nice too - increase the number of health upgrades to 20 or something so people can spend their money on something. Movement upgrades would be nice too.
Really wanted to like this, love MOO series, but either the game is bugged or it isn't very user-friendly. I created a large fleet to defend my planet - it worked, but after I colonized another planet it put a red fleet icon in orbit around that planet, but said my ships were launched in orbit there - yet I couldn't click on them or move them. Enemy then sent a fleet to my main planet which I can no longer defend.
Let me know when this crap is fixed.
Most annoying part was having to hoard 300 coins to see the ending when I'd already gotten every other achievement.
Checked the comments after I ran a really long ass time without being hit to see it wasn't distance or actually skill involved to win....
"Games in a row" achievements don't appear to be working. I've lost one game (towards the start) and have won 27 games according to the game - no achievement/challenge.
When you update to fix the hanging please keep the filename the same so our save files aren't screwed up - a lot of devs forget to do that.
Also...Space to pause would be a great hotkey. The 2 max for auxiliary seems pretty limiting since shields and barricades are so essential (esp. shields).
Enjoying the game so far. I haven't had to "spam" fighters to win the early levels. I do wish you could replay levels to get more credits just in case I do get stuck or just want to max out the upgrades.
No way to stop soldiers from going to a base. Clunky interface. Unexplained upgrades you can't reset. If you upgrade incorrectly then some levels are impossible. If you then try easy difficulty you are too overpowered. Game should've been play-tested and balanced before release.
Nice game. A bit short but I liked it. I enjoyed how the consequences to the decisions you made actually made sense - this types of things tend to be random which annoys me.
Hit me up as well if you ever want help expanding the concept.
There is certainly strategy in this game - unit purchases, upgrading, placement, switching, timing, etc. The problem is that you don't really have much strategy until midway through the game. This could probably be alleviated by altering unit costs and gold gain so the first part is less grindy.
Dude, the spacebar is the LAST button you want to use for any game like this. Keyboards can't read too many keys when you use it - you need to use "z" or something for jump so people don't die from the keys not being read properly.
