Very cool concept, but boring as shit. Also, constructive criticism: Since the game is entirely keyboard-played, I would recommend binding a "menu" key, and allowing you to select the various options with the keys; that way I don't have to take my hand off the keys and move my mouse over to click it.
Uh, the first level with yellow blocks didn't continue after I cleared all the faces. I just kept making matches regardless till it told me game over. Was that the end or is this game just weaksauce?
I am astounded. One person. Making this game. Incredible. Not only is this game huge in scale, is fun, and is humorous, but there are still 6 chapters to come! I await them eagerly.
Uh. The disclaimer more than enough justifies the jokes. He explicitly says that if you will be offended, that you should just click "menu" and never read them. They're funny. Lay off.
When I finished the game after saving 11 times (because I didn't care about the scores and all), the reduction was 110%, and at the end of the game it was not factored into my total?
How I won:
Mash the shield button when it comes time to level up until you get to about 150; then boost shield by 5 every level and give the rest to turret. Shield is basically useless on the final level, so if you're right before it, put it all in engine.
Need. Network. Play. Also, the music was awesome until it started making the dial-up-esque noises. Not cool. But seriously, I've yet to find a simple free pong that has netplay.
Huh, apparently it was a bug; when I refreshed and played again, the spawn rate of the plants was much, much lower. It's still a legit score though; only the spawn rate was bugged
Um, whoa. Just so everyone knows, I didn't cheat. The game doubles the points it gives you per item in the chain, and with a max chain of 55, that got pretty high. Screenshot of game over screen: http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/4199/09052007171130br4.png
Sloppy controls, awful hit detection, pointless, no aerial movement in a platformer, malfunctioning gravity, etc.
It looks like more thought went into the obstacles than the game itself.
Congratulations! You've just reinvented the time length of "second," and made it 2-3 times longer! That was ridiculous. like 25 minutes on the 10 minute one. The timer was poorly coded to boot, with no placeholder 0 in the seconds. Powerups should be larger, or have a longer time on them, since you have to slow down and carefully maneuver yourself to get it, by which point it's probably gone. And stop dropping weapon upgrade powerups when my weapon is already level 12, and mark that as "Final." Also, the upgrades themselves suck. They're hardly upgrades, rather tradeoffs. Upgrade spread, reduce range. Upgrade power, reduce spread.
Yeah, it's so super awesome that the general, my most important unit, completely ignores my commands whenever an enemy is near. Great tactics, he. 2/5.
Possibly the easiest badge to ever get. Customize your deck so it's all monsters, and the computer's so it's all monster-buffing or summoning cards. That way he won't ever be able to attack or defend, and you will be constantly doing so. It will take about 3 turns. :P
