I absolutely, in no uncertain terms, love this game. It's sad how amazing armorgames is at making addictive games, while other companies beg their players to pay to play games that aren't anywhere near as fun. Take a lesson Pay-to-Play games....
I don't get why people are complaining in the top comments about the challenges being too hard or unfair. It's almost like the badge they're going after is listed as.... impossible.
Finished fifth level... do the space bar combo chain against the boss. Then I get surprised by the shuriken requiring back and forth repeatedly. I'm a little slow, but it's okay I think to myself "at least I've still got 80% of my temple's health remaining, sure take a little off the top it's cool. Game. Over. Are you kidding me!? This 3/5 just turned into a 1.
I don't think this has been said yet, so I'm going to throw it out there: this game really needs some kind of enemies remaining counter. Slaughtering countless ninjas is cool and all, but it feels so repetitive without some kind of visual goal that I'm working towards. Same goes with how many levels remain/ what level I'm on. And the skills could've been more varied. For example, some kind of skill that reduces how many letters enemies appear with, or something to make the enemies words simpler. Just so the skill options aren't just "you have 3 abilities. UPGRADE THEM NAO!"
"We're unhappy so we're striking." Why are you unhappy? "Because living here sucks, it's so depressing." So, don't you think finishing the research on electricity will make our lives better, and thus less depressing? And isn't that more useful than striking? [Scientist Lisa left your town in the middle of the night]. God damn it.
Ugh conquering towns would be fun if it wasn't so random. Maxed out armor/ weapons, all of my party members have high attack/def and yet each battle with a town really is just a coin flip doing random damage between 10 and 45 wtf.
Alright, I didn't believe the comment on glitches until I experienced one myself. I was at 11 health, the enemy deals 11 health with each swing, but I get 1 health during the enemy's turn. I died on the last boss of a 5 enemy wave with... 1 health remaining. As in, it told me I was defeated despite still clearly having 1 health. WTF. I gave this game 4/5 before, but not anymore.
Awesome game, but two things it needs: 1) ANOTHER speed up button, the waves still take forever even when they get one-shotted at the entrance. 2) I understand it's supposed to help us, but having to hit a button to progress to the next wave is really obnoxious, especially given the previously mentioned slow speed of the units. If it's going to take 20 minutes for a level to complete, I'd rather just set up all my units and leave the game to go grab a beer. Don't make me come back to click "ok" for each wave!
The problem is that the game isn't really so much strategy as it is mushing your units against the enemies. For all intents and purposes it might as well just have the entire thing run by the a.i. Also, the level difficulty spikes up rather oddly. The first five or so rounds were relatively easy, taking several minutes to complete. Then Ape Mountain has like a million gorillas and yetis guarding it's base. I haven't lost yet, but hte battle's been running on assault for like an hour now and their health is slowly being wittled away. There's a difference between "difficulty" and "delaying the inevitable to an obnoxious degree".
A speed up button for the boring stalemates would be nice. And as other people mentioned, skills and/or attributes would really help make levels feel less repetitive.
Wow, didn't get what everyone was complaining about until I hired my first worker: "this is how many 'days' you can play, 'days' recharge at a rate of one per hour". FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU! If I wanted to do facebook bs I would be playing on facebook. Go peddle your wares elsewhere 1/5 only because they don't let you hand out zeros.
Throwing in one of those robots early on with only two health that you can only really pass by jumping over is a pain in the neck. And not being able to jump and shoot/ see that you're crawling when pressing down are two pretty big sins. Other than that, it was an interesting game. If the aforementioned things were improved upon I'd dare say this could be one of my favorited games.
Shouldn't it be "save this land FROM chaos"? Saving a land of chaos seems like it will always be.... chaotic. So what exactly are we saving the land of chaos from? Order?
@FlareAndrew just use Suuljin's order in the top comments and aggressively use the single and area effect stun. If you take out the big hitters each wave (like atomic tower, or the cannons) you should be fine. You really never need the turtle or the cleanse warlock for any golds.
I'm having the same problem as devildog. I beat the game completely, everything unlocked, all gold medals, and it gave me the achievements related to those. But it's refusing to give me the rainbow one because I haven't found the two treasure chests. Unless it's referring to something besides the cellar door and kongregate treasure, I have no idea what to do.
So, I beat the game with all gold medals, went back and redid levels to get enough infamy for all the skills.... and the reward for all of that hard work? A carpet. Why are you so abusive to the ones that love you Rete?
