I noticed references to the Boxhead games, Space Invaders, and Geometry Wars.
I love the way the space invaders have choppy animations, looks like they're from an 80's music video lol.
I think this game was inspired by Dragon's Lair: it has the medieval setting, humorous aspect, and a similar trial and error based gameplay. I wish the game had more plot even if it was really silly, the endings and lack of intro leave more to be desired. What you can tell though is that the Handsome Hero ended up in the tower through some sort of teleporter because you can see the flash through the window during the beginning scene.
This game is pretty old, I didn't even realize it. Its aged very well!
By the way, whats up with the music? '-'
Sounds like some alternative rock that got mixed up with Samba xD
I got stuck from some glitch, but got to go back to the checkpoint with the suicide button, I guess thats why it was implemented -_- And my nerdism within is dying everytime someone calls the Mr. Burns imp a bat, its an imp!
I did a no death run and managed to beat it even though I got turned into a snail; nothing special happened though. -_-
Every ending is pretty much the same too, teleporting back to the tower naked.
All in all I have no idea what I played but.. I liked it xD
I was wondering why the creator had offed himself, I mean if I had created an advanced AI I'd be ecstatic. Also why does the guy you play as even bother disabling the personality, I'd sell it for a ton o' cash... but then I got to thinking that this game probably takes place in the future and AIs are commonplace, so making one isn't that great of an achievement and terminating personality isn't much of a loss. Your guy probably sees depressed AIs routinely in his/her work.
