Please avoid this game - it is entirely set up to cripple game play while inviting you to pay upwards of $30 for ONE GUN (300 creds). Everything about this game is already available in a myriad of other far better designed games, with more maps, better tiered system, larger community, more character / weapons customization, less hacking (this will never be fixed), more servers, etc. Even Quake Live is a far superior game, and is totally free, with all weapons unlocked immediately. Don't waste your time or money on this greedy crap. Try Team Fortress 2, Quake Live, Counter Strike, Battlefield Series, Halo series, Left 4 Dead series, etc. - far superior games without the shopping mall cluttered interface and extensive hacking.
Is this a game or a shopping mall? The majority of the menu GUI is focused on buying shit (which hopefully nobody does). Try focusing on gameplay and an efficient interface that helps the gameplay. So sad people just submit to this greedy trash.
Made it to level 21 - the whole game basically grinds to a halt at that point. Have to go into pacifist mode, 'cause can't beat any opponent despite having high level offensive upgrades (Monkey v Monkey). Can't come close to taking contested area - guys are getting 15 levels higher than I can even attain (lvl 30 vs. lvl 45). Plantations are limited, and not enough options to earn cash other than farming for a month I guess. :(
47 hours for a 3rd tier upgrade? Cmon guys, I want to actually play the game when I have time, which isn't during the week. I know this "idle" game trend is very much about making money, but FFS it would be nice to actually play the game y'all built. I miss the days when games were about skill and strategy, and not about waiting around for days for game functionality to actually become enabled.
Avoid buying weapons, etc. from the store. It's way too expensive, and prices scale up faster than you can earn. Just use the crafting page - seriously just keep on running the wheel and trying to hit high level weapons / armor. By level 10 I had 2 level 30 primary weapons doing it this way, and blew past 40% of the game very quickly. Currently have the lightning / thunder towers (medium) level 6, plus heavy armor, and heavy armor + 23 medium weapons for the ship and I haven't spent any money at all yet. Store is definitely a waste of resources.
@Ihlion - awesome thanks for the info! I just realized what you had mentioned - that some cards have different max levels. I just assumed when one of my rare cards maxed at level 15 that I capped it by evolving too fast. Thanks for the heads up!
@LordPrisma, do you have a source for that? I seemed to have the same stats on a Dragon tower as another guy in a forum who didn't use the mirror with the yellow card...whereas I did. I wonder if there's another factor involved. I really wish there was a WIKI for this game, explaining all the upgrade options.
One last bit of advice - if you're running out of space for cards - forge whatever you can into your favorite towers. Pay attention to the cards that offer multiple forging powers (wind, hammer, ice, strength cards, etc.) they will really help you level up the forging strength (again, max 25) of your towers.
And also, be on the lookout for "Mirror" cards. The mirror cards are the key to Evolving high level forged towers! Instead of having to find another, say, Level 10 (forging) tower to match the one you have, just use a mirror card in the Evolution section. Done!
More advice: The Dragon Tower is the best tower in the game. Once maxed out it fires at both air and land targets. My maxed tower does 4000 damage per shot once upgraded fully in-game. You can complete the entire game (3 star) on normal with a fully maxed out Dragon Tower (Level III, Strength 25).
Other important towers: Ice Tower (seems to be the best slowing tower for ground enemies) as it freezes everything in range, instead of trying to fire at every enemy. Also important: Detector Tower. Helps illuminate invisible enemies when in range. You only really need one in range of a strong tower (like a Dragon Tower) as invisibles are usually weak. Best magic seems to be Rain Of Fire and Curse. Won't need much else.
It's confusing, but hopefully that helps!
WARNING: Once a tower is *evolved* to level III (RED), it is locked. It cannot be upgraded at all after this point. So some advice: do not evolve your towers to level 3, UNTIL you've maxed out the 25 forging levels. So keep all towers at a maximum of Level II until you're done forging.
"Evolving" refers to unlocking the towers upgrades paths, for upgrading while in a map, just like any other TD game. Each tower has a maximum of 3 levels - or 3 evolutions. The first level (I) is 1x the tower's strength, the second level (II) is 2x the towers strength. And the third level is 4x the towers strength. Again, when I say "strength" I'm referring to the towers forging level. These levels are also color coded: Green is level I, yellow is level II, red is level III.
Because forging / evolving are done separately, you can actually have a level 25 tower (through forging) but with a Level I Evolution. Meaning the tower is maxed out, but you also can't upgrade it in game. Eventually you will evolve your favorite chosen towers to Evolution Level III, and Forge Level 25.
An amazing TD game with absolutely terrible instructions on how anything actually works.
Some info for new players - about towers first:
"Forging": The number you see on the card refers to the towers strength level. You increases this primarily through forging. The highest level a tower can reach is 25. (I believe magic is maxed at 15?) As you level up a tower (through forging) you will increase strength, range, fire rate, etc. - depending on what each towers ability is. For example, forging a freezing tower will increase the freeze range, duration and percentage of slowing ability.
Basically a bad port of Nadeo's Trackmania - which was free - and still is, but graphics have become a lot better. Google it. TONS of glitches in this version - especially with time / record keeping. What's really sad, is that all the tracks you get here are from the original game, but the cars these guys have made for this version are not really compatible. Enjoy exploding into loops when you drive too fast, or flipping over invisible bumps in the road. Also - terrible level editor, unlike the original game. Chat volume should be way lower by default. Curious if this version is even approved by Nadeo.
Like watching paint dry. Am I supposed to play for a month to get all the upgrades? The gameplay isn't interesting enough to warrant the time investment.
Cmon game developers - put some effort in ffs. I'm sure you have photoshop and can spend 20 minutes designing a better background. Or maybe 3 or 4 backgrounds that change every 10 levels. Seriously - it'll be an hour out of your day. The single zombie 'uggh' sound, sounds like it was recorded in one take. And not even a bit of effort into the gun sounds or hit sound. And just because you have an upgrade system doesn't mean every level of the game has to be exactly the same with no variation except the amount of zombies (that look like mutated horse shoes). 1/10
This game should be titled "Air Defense" You spend pretty much the entire game defending against air attacks. Most of the bosses / final wave only really need air defense since they're air lifted into the map, lol. It's a shame, 'cause there are so many great ground weapons that I want to use, but I end up using the basic guns / cannons 'cause a majority of my resources go to air weapons and building needless buildings just to unlock better weapons. Could be great, but there's just some really strange design choices.
Can anyone explain how to set a match beyond the additional +30 waves. The endurance badge lists up to 80 waves, but the maximum I can find is 55 - adding 30 to the bottom right locations which are set at 25. Is there something I'm missing where you can set it to unlimited waves? Thanks!
