Interesting. The controls are nice and there's a few fun bits, but overall it got a bit old without any challenges. Nice pixelated graphics choice, sounds are good, story is good, there just isn't much to do. I got all 5, but C and D are pretty much the exact same thing.
Game was easy with a few iffy puzzles. What made it great was the art and the heart behind the story. Very fun, great little game that looks wonderful.
Seriously, the priority system on what I poke, grab, slap or drop things on is horrific. The buildings fall over if I brush them with a needle, but if a person falls on top of them from a mile they prevent all damage. Why are the thieves stronger than anyone except the knight or superhero? What weapon do I have against the jetpack guys except jabbing them with the needle? Why do people get to land right next to the exit and wander off screen? Why do coins vanish behind buildings where I can't touch them? What possible use are the rocks? They don't HIT anything when I drop them! This is a great idea for a game with a metric TON of horrible execution added. AAAAARRRGGGG!
Frustrating, FULL of bugs.
Why do I grab corpses instead of WALKING villagers? Why do the graphics flicker and people disappear?
And the knight + jetpack combo is ludicrous. Pure and simple.
Frustrating instant-death jumping game. The concept is fine, the physics are nice and the graphics are neat, but I can't stand precision jumping games.
OH, and level based gates? CRAP.
BTW: go do the arena first, the levels transfer and you can avoid all the hunting around for enemies so you can clear some gate.
Fun and flawed.
The fighting is cool, lots of nice animations and the enemies seem to have some sort of go+do AI. They get kind of easy fast, though.
level design is crap. On ever single level there's a point of 'WTF do I do now?' Without fail, there's some off-screen ledge you have to go blindly jump for or look for to continue.
Bosses are awful, they don't seem to have any greater challenge except cheating the way the player control works. Invisible but can still hit you? Crap. Random blocking vines? Crap. Knock you off a ledge with bombs you can't avoid? Crap.
Still, the fun overcomes these annoyances. 4/5
Incredibly frustrating controls, how on earth are you supposed to know where you're at if the screen scrolls at random speeds? Way too fast to control correctly, the music becomes awful very quickly. Lots that could have worked, not much that did.
FIRST BOSS =
Put points in Armor, Rockets and Freeze Ray. Dump the rest in damage and upgrades to your air attacks. Build 3 rockets + Freeze, and your armor will let you survive the first pass of the boss. Freeze holds him for an extra rocket attack or 2 and you should make it before he bombs you again.
