1-35 in one night and I'm done. I rated it 1-star quite a while ago, and was disappointed I had to play this clone for contest tickets. Still 1 star. I hate this kind of money-grab game that plays itself.
I started out rating this game 3 stars - the highest I give idle games. But later in the game, this one stinks. The pacing grinds to a halt at 6-letters. I don't know how or why people continue after that point. Fun idea, but the scale of upgrades clearly needs a complete overhaul. So I'm downgrading it to 2-stars. It'd be 1 if I hadn't liked it so much at the start.
Controls feel a little touchy. Would like to see an option to reverse the up and down keys. Feels weird going up by pressing up after years of playing flight simulators with a joystick.
This game is so fun. I look forward to an expanded toolbox. I've created a couple levels so far, and I really like the feel of it, but I need more monsters and environmental stuff.
Unlike Ardagan, I LIKE the fact that the game has no borders. It increases the challenge... do you REALLY know where things are on the globe? Plus, it's nice to look at the world without man-made borders cluttering it.
Finally made it to year 51. :D Japanese is a HUGE advantage early game, because your equally powerful unit is way stronger, so no need to use militia, which lets you build more gold faster. Weaker late game when you have a big army. For beliefs I went up the one that lets you steal the enemy militia, and that makes a huge difference, too.
Wow, this game is really, really fun! Took me a couple tries before I realized you need to build a lot of peasants up front, but once I got that I made it to year 50... although that final battle beat me badly. :P
Suggestion: Auto-builder. You pick a planet that has a specific build that you like for a certain size, say 5x5. When you capture another 5x5 planet, you set it to auto-build (so long as you have the money to cover all the buildings to the levels of upgrades that you want). It's gotten to the point where I'm attacking systems and not bothering to build the planets because I don't see much point with so many hundreds of planets...
