I strongly disagree with the decision to make speed a stat that is determined by points invested from levels. All it does is force players to waste stat points just to be able to move at a reasonable pace, forming a sort of level tax that just interferes with the player's ability to form a character build. It would be better to have item loadout determine speed.
It's probably easiest to train your melee units on the orcs in the middle, since the bottom demon mages absolutely rape them and the undead terrorists on the top will blow big holes in your lines. Mages should be able to handle the bottom row. The main difference between spearmen and knights is that spearmen move much, much faster during their special, while knights are just plain better in combat thanks to their superior defense, at least at first.
From what I can tell, it's the last thing thing arena with the obnoxious time attack mechanic removed. It's good to see you read the reviews, even when they're negative.
Considering it's a visual novel made in flixel about philosophy, this was well-constructed and respectful, even amusing at points. Well done. Well done.
I imagine the dark godcat with a deep male voice, and the light godcat with a female voice. That was undeniably the greatest bossfight I've ever experienced. Akron has nothing on Godcat.
I have to say I found the selling point for the EW series to be the sheer scale, and you've pretty much completely removed that aspect. I'm also unimpressed by your tactic of releasing that My Little Army game last summer as proof of concept and then coming out with this. In my opinion, when a game recieves worse reception than older games you've created, it's poor form to then release new games with the newer, less popular gameplay. In short I think the Little Army game was a failure, compared to the older EW installments, and that you should not have then used its gameplay style in EW5.
That may be so! But that fancy plugin means I can publish the game to several platforms without rewriting the entire engine. ;)
