Max upgrade (power & speed) a single weapon instead of splattering points all over. The basic gun fully upgraded will kill any boss type in a few seconds.
Competent if not fun. Good first outing to test your skills! Start thinking about a game that is you, reflects yourself as a dev, instead of merely slapping upgrades onto Space Invaders.
I love typing games and this one is a new take on them...which doesn't work very well. The design is a bit iffy and the bugs/balance/even spelling definitely needs a few more passes. (One really nasty bit: accuracy as a stat changing the success of a correctly typed word is awful. Penalize typos instead.)
Clever game. The physics resembles real life as much as I resemble a super model upside down in a tank of fluorine on Mars (which is to say, not one bit) but that's fine as the gameplay is consistent. A does B. A does B next time too. What people are calling lag (they call ANYTHING feeling slow with a computer lag) is probably the intentional slow pace and floatiness. If the intended story for the next round is about space zombies, please stick to story free. :)
the story as it stands is going to be space cat attempting to escape zombie space romans who have been awoken by BP space drilling. (im copying everything from the elephant game and the bison game)
The game broke in Survival. No additional enemies, no end, only fly around/shoot at nothing. 3,464,086 point/2630 pixel/81 enemy if that helps narrow down where & why it happened/happens.
oh ok i will play through the game and fix that over the weekend thanks for your help!
Update: i have made it possible to clear that jump thanks for your help.
I look forward to your later efforts. There's not much here and it may not be the best use of time expanding it, except as programming practice. Do consider including remappable key controls for your games. It's a little detail which goes a long way; good to get in the habit early. Best of luck!
thanks for the comment.I will try to add more. however i am currently making my games on a website called stencyl and it is pretty basic so i may attempt making a more difficult game in the future (difficult for me)!
Ugly as dirt but people like this style. Play design is fine, execution is a bit choppy. There are odd pauses/freezes in the action. There's also a hang bug or two on the second character. Wasn't able to reproduce it on first, but also didn't put in time to try.
I've no idea why these vehicles have front tires. It's not like you'd ever want them touching the ground. May as well be bunny shaped tea cosies full of rocks.
Moving into a wall moving the character in the last available direction it'd been going is a dubious choice. I can't tell it was intentional or not but it is weird. It should either do nothing or cost a turn.
Tyrant 101 Updated: Ideally save gold for a gold pack sealed tournament. 20k, same as four packs + plus an uncommon not otherwise available + anything you win (often you'll make some of the gold back not fighting at all and staying at 1000 points). Or 30k for a gold/enclave. Don't enter standard tournaments. Without specific cards not available to a starting player you'll get your head ripped off. Tournaments have different play order rules than arena/wars so click the ? and read them. Big hint: if you play first, a 0 speed card ignores the delay, so an otherwise useless card like Glaive becomes powerful. Sealed enclave is less variable than gold or gold/enclave, so start there and learn the cards likely to be in play if you want to fight one.
Thanks for the support pal. There are a lot of factors to consider, and I'll keep that in mind.
