This game gets 2 for a good concept and horrible controls. I can never figure out if momentum cares or not. Sometimes I just go flying off an inclined ledge sometimes he drops like a brick.
Agree with previous comments, it either needs survival or a hard mode where you keep all your upgrades. It was a lot of fun, but was slightly disappointing that I beat it with barely half the upgrades purchased. Want more. 4/5
This is a really sweet game and I wanna give it 5/5, but I don't know if its a memory leak or my computer is just that shit (its not), but after about 2 minutes of playing, it lags to the point of unplayability. Its sad because I really like the game.
And as a couple other people have said, despite what my other post wrote, the game is overall very easy. A final boss wouldn't go amiss. And if you make the game a little less frenetic in its speed, you can actually increase the strategic difficulty a bit.
Great concept. Main thing I would suggest is to auto-collect coins. Toward the end, especially in the early waves of the last few levels, you have to focus so hard on killing enemies that you can barely collect the coins, and I often fell 1 or 2 short of my next trap because coins disappeared before I could get them. Also, maybe add some hotkeys for traps so they're easier to place mid-combat. Again, I could barely collect coins mid-wave, forget about trying to place an extra trap, which would have been massively helpful at certain points.
If I had to make one objective criticism, it would be for hard mode to ease up just slightly on the number of "curves", "splits", and "funnels" that can appear in rapid succession. The primary reason I say this is that I lost several times at higher speeds on hard because I was simply having to move my mouse too far in one direction or another without enough time between obstacles to recenter the mouse on my mousepad. Two words: Carpal tunnel. XD
I found the 4th and 5th heroes to be pretty useless since my earlier heroes were already well-leveled by the time I got them. So it was way easier to just keep using them. So the only point to levelling them up would be for the badges, which is just bragging rights anyway. Still, awesome take on the bullet hell shooter. 5/5
Am I the only one not getting achievements awarded for certain levels. I just went back and played bottoms up on Easy for a second time just to check, and I'm still not getting the associated achievement on the list.
The last achievement needs to be toned down a bit. Play for 2 hours when the game can be completed in less than 1 is a bit excessive. Otherwise great game, 5/5
5 for concept. 4 for execution. Mostly the zoom, as others have said. Some of the levels require very precise shots that are difficult with such a wide angle. But the art is great and otherwise it all functions well.
I should call the sequel that! Anyway, the roll of the dice can twist the fickle finger of fate. So basically good luck!
