Several people have been "ex-hackers" and quickly returned to their ways once many people believed they had stopped. It takes LOTS of work to get all the watchy people to believe you, and if you mess up again, it's likely that you are never to be believed.
Ben mentioned awhile back on the Beta Forums that people keep telling him that his stuff resembles games he's never even heard of before... Things like that happen I guess.
Love this game, although the difficulty is a bit steep sometimes... about the only problem I have is that enemies tend to just spawn, and more than once it feels like it was RIGHT on top of me, no chance to evade. Probably my bad luck/sight. But still 5/5
Drones have hard points? LOLWUT? I know for a fact that laser cannon shots at a shallow angle (relative to the longest side) or directly perpendicular work best... But hard points?
The ending was quite priceless. Showing such things from a different point of view can really make you feel small and unimportant. I mean, not until the VERY end do you see for sure that you are actually destroying humanity itself. Until then for most it's probably just a fun game.
There is a mute option. Type in "/ignore name" and it will ignore the name (spaces are counted too). If you're talking about music, that can be muted in options before logging in. If you are talking about SOUND itself, you can't without muting your speakers as far as I know. But sound itself is vital to hearing incoming weapons you know...
As a beta tester for Ben, I assure you that the next Starfighter already has a likely name, but it is not yet in production. Unless Ben is hiding things.
Lagging means you don't see the all the weapons fired at you because of your connection. That's why you 'don't take the damage you should'. And it's why you move slower than you should compared to ships with less lag. Negative shield on AI is the result of it dying on other players' screens and not yours.
