The game doesn't hold much interest for me. It promises more than it delivers. It boasts that you can customize your dinosaur to no end, but your stuck with two stock options at the start, which is a bummer. Also, Combat's kinda stilted. Nothing I wouldn't expect from some turn-based RPGs.
@jeromegee you'd be surprised. The "friggin sports thing" as you put it, took me a lot of guesses. And at the end of all that, it's name is "Ice Hockey". GODDAMN YOU GAME!!!!!!!!
That said, I love the music files used.
@zackwiki101 I will admit, when I first tried playing the game, it was hard as hell, and even to date there is ONE track I can't do (damn you Burn7) but it helps if you look at the "how to play" option. The radar-thing tells you what kinds of towers you will need the most, e.g. Playing With Fire needs a lot of yellow and red towers.
UPDATE: For tetris controls, I recommend using three arrow keys with spacebar instead of just two arrow keys (as previously stated). Still a shitty game.
this is quite possibly the worst tetris game i have EVER played. First up, the control layout is simply awful. Either use two arrow keys and spacebar or all four arrow keys. Second, the lack of colour distinction makes it damn near impossible to tell which pieces (either "S" shaped or "L" shaped) go which way up. Thirdly, the grandfather is just plain offensive. Finally, Tetris pieces don't just stick once their down. ESPECIALLY not if they're diagonally connected. The only good thing about this game is the music. DO NOT PLAY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
I've just realized something: the entire game is just an analogy, a metaphor even, for discrimination borne out of fear. Think about it. Why else would someone try to destroy something that they don't entirely understand? Because they're afraid of what MIGHT happen. What the military figures thought MIGHT happen is that the alien would stomp all over them, but they're too blind to see all it wants is to protect it's friends.
Everyone fears change to some extent, and that change may be gradual, or sudden, but unexpected nonetheless. Even so, there are some (like the family) who embrace change (i.e. the alien, the word also means "outsider"), and those who would seek to prevent it by any means necessary (the army), and thus, creative sparks are extinguished before they even have a chance to ignite (even in the line of duty). This game perfectly captures that feeling, and I love it.
it's just a jump to the left, a dash to the right, kick-climb up, dash down through some glass and- OH NO I DIED!!!! That is the ninja version of the time warp. This game is challenging and fun, but at times it can be uber-frustrating.
The game is fun, but the constant onslaught of nets, cannonballs, harpoons and the like ramps up way too quickly. I would say, if you're going to play a different game with similar gameplay, stick with either Dolphin Olympics or Effing Worms.
Dirty minds...
