Seriously, why is everyone attacking the controls? Space to jump seems fairly intuitive to me. I never touched the D key, except to remind myself that it, too, let me jump.
I'm not sure if it's just because of my play style, but I find that land waves are far too fragile compare to air waves. The only reason I upgrade my maze is because an air enemy would get too close to the goal for my own comfort. There's no penalty for juggling (why would you want to bother, anyway?) and I'm sitting on a crapload of money. Of course, I'm only on level 2, so that might be why it's too damn easy.
tl;dr: Buff land creeps, they don't even scratch the interior of my maze.
@goffy332: Better than going to Heaven. Eternal paradise, wonderful. Ever think of what makes us moral beings in the first place? It's empathy. Someone suffers, we vicariously experience it through them. If, while in Heaven, you can still have empathic feelings for those suffering on Earth, then Heaven isn't. If you can't, then you've lost something core to your very being.
Oh, as for Hell? I won't worship an entity who attempts to threaten me with the eternal punishment of my immortal soul for finite crimes committed on the mortal realm. And the less said about Pascal's Wager, the better.
@080087: Chaining is, currently, useless. I think soybean said a few pages back that he was going to make it easier to rack up larger chains. It'd be nice if big chains were rewarded with a proportionately higher score, although that would mean Hunters instantly become high score kings.
@rgrmatt69: You're right about one thing: this game doesn't have any quality settings (which makes it run like crap on this laptop). There are two mute buttons, one for SFX and another for music, in the top right corner. Instructions are supplied when you start the game.
@venturesome: Figure of speech. Having a gatling gun (Attack Speed == 1, see earlier comments) is basically the most damaging thing ever. Couple it with an upgraded level 3 turret and things die really, really fast. You still need to dodge, but not for nearly as long.
If you're complaining about dying in one hit, then you really need to learn the bullet patterns. If you feel you need some more time to do that, use the Knight Fyre and just pump Strength. Get the Level 3 turret first, then the turret upgrade, then the level 3 MP->HP converter. (Don't work your way up, actually hold out for the best -- I feel the lower levels aren't really worth it.) If/When you can afford it, go for the revive charm. Following this advice will make all the levels and first few bosses that much more bearable, since you don't die as often. None of this is a substitute for actually learning the patterns, though, so pay attention!
Monotonous, easy as hell, and not very engrossing. Its best feature is the nostalgia factor, which just makes me want to play games like MechWarrior and Armored Core more than this one. Still, it's not entirely without merit. It's a decent enough game, but once you get into the swing of things, it loses its luster.
Needs a mute button. Needs a pause button. Aside from that, this game has an interesting mechanic, but doesn't have any variety. There needs to be more than one type of enemy. As it stands, this game is too easy and grows boring fairly quickly.
Aw, damn. This is a good game. Too bad my laptop doesn't have my save for this game... I'll just have to wait until my motherboard gets back so I can play this on my good comp. Until then, may as well get the card. Glad this has badges now.
The timer continues to tick while the game is paused. Aside from that bug, I feel that the sun's gravity (if not the gravity mechanic as a whole), while an interesting game element, isn't actually fun to work against.
