I was too easy on this game the first time. If the Germans were this effective in the real WW2, this game would have been written in German 'cause the German Empire would control the world. 1/5.
Now this is more like it! Excellent, well-designed, fun, clever, and cute, all in the same package! Level design is a tiny bit unoriginal, but the rest of the package makes up for it. It would also take a hellish amount of luck to get a perfect on every level, heh. Some of those levels are freakin' scary. All in all, though, an excellent game! 5/5.
Couldn't be more basic or less original, but it's well done and fun to play once. Be nice if holding down the space bar generated continuous fire. But that's a minor flaw in a very decent game. Call it 4/5.
An excellent idea implemented VERY poorly. I absolutely love the concept of this game and I hope that someone does a better version of it. The other comments do a good job of detailing the problems, but I'll sum up: the Germans are excellent, nearly unkillable soldiers whose weapons always hit their targets while your stalwart Americans can't hit the broad side of a barn and throw grenades and fire bazookas and flamethrowers into their own foxholes with remarkable regularity. The game also cheats on behalf of the Germans (they get the benefits of signalers and officers without having signalers or officers on screen), to say nothing of the fact that you will be massively, massively out-numbered pretty much all the time. A great idea, implemented poorly. 2/5.
It's well done, game-play-wise, but either over-thought, or under-thought, strategy-wise (I'm not sure which). There are multiple solutions to most ever puzzle, which makes it a little unclear if the developer intended that or not (I'll guess, probably). But in the end it means you can get a lot further in this game by applying multiple lucky guesses than you can with logic... a fatal flaw for a logical puzzle game. 4/5 -1 for this flaw = 3/5.
It's... OK. A little derivative. No, make that a lot derivative. It's obvious that you put a huge amount of time into this game, but you should have spent more time making the game a little more original. Still, technically, the game is fine: good game-play, good difficulty ramping, interesting cards. But the lack of originality just kills it. 5/5 -2 = 3/5.
Clever idea, but it would be much more fun if the game showed you the figure after you solved one level (maybe it could show the previous level during each level?). That aspect makes the game frustrating even if you can successfully visualize each level. 3/5.
It's a clever idea, and would make a great party game, but without the social interaction, quickly becomes rather boring. Still, the design is excellent, game-play excellent, and the AI opponents have to be fought to be believed. So, it would be perfect if not for the loss of the social aspect. 5/5 -1 for that = 4/5.
I have mixed feelings about this one. There's no question at all that it's clever and well-designed. Game-play couldn't be simpler and difficulty ramps acceptably fast. OTOH, it's incredibly frustrating. Even if you're very patient and you do everything right, you can still easily lose just because of the very nature of the game. Gonna rate it 3/5 for now, come back to it in a month or so and see if my opinion has changed.
It's OK. Difficulty ramps a little too fast, quality is too low, and I'm pretty sure the world doesn't need another center-shooter, particularly one in which you can't move. But for players of SFDG, there's a certain amount of amused fun to be had before boredom and lack of options sets in. You really should be able to switch between the secondary weapons that you collect, and there should be a better option for increasing shields. Call it 3/5, overall.
Reminds me a lot of Net from One More Level, though Net uses square pieces and this uses circular pieces. There's definitely some brain fry that sets in pretty quickly. That said, it's a very elegant game and the game play is simplicity itself, so you're to be congratulated for that. 4/5.
Excellent! A very easy 5/5. Ironically, I wrote something very similar to this for my senior-level Computer Science degree project, so this game brought back a lot of memories, heh. An excellent demonstrator and and even better logic game. I think level 10 is actually the hardest level (HINT: turn on the light closest to your starting point first!), and 11 and 12 are easy by comparison. That's a minor quibble, though. Excellent, excellent work!
Well, at its heart, it's basically another twitch avoider. In other words, it's none too original. Even the power-ups aren't particularly original (laser ragdoll did them first). Still, the graphics perfectly match the humorous nature of the game, as do the sound effects and there's definitely replay value! Still, I can't bring myself to give it a 4: it *is* just a twitch avoider, after all. So call it 2/5 for an unoriginal concept +1 for the well-done humor aspects = 3/5.
Good stuff! The difficulty ramping is set just a little bit too high, and so in that way is basically a twitch avoider with a new perspective. Still, I found it more enjoyable than I do most twitch avoiders. So call this one an unoriginal concept with great execution and a great new perspective. 4/5.
Pros: THE most original game I think I've ever seen. The person that came up with this idea needs to be hired by a game company, NOW. Outstanding idea! The perfect "geez, I could have thought of that" idea. Cons: game is (you will forgive me) buggy as hell. With complex webs, game sometimes goes into a recursive loop that takes several minutes to get out of. Looks like game has crashed; it hasn't. Be patient and it will come back... eventually. By that time, you might have restarted or might miss the game coming back and lose. 5/5 -2 for major, major bugs = 3/5. Fix!
I finally completed level 10 in this, but I stand by my original assessment. While it has some original elements, there are far too few defensive options for the player and by level 11, the game just becomes impossible with far too much stuff being thrown at the player far too quickly (and I mean that near-literally). I only survived level 10 by means of sheer luck. Difficulty ramping. Look into it. Still 2/5.
It's excellent but WAAAAAAAAAY too long. Took me FOREVER to complete it. 4/5 for the game, -1 for length = 3/5. Great concept and great game-play, but the length of what should be a really casual game just defeats it.
A worthy successor to the first one! Harder in some ways, easier in others. The random levels are MUCH harder for some reason; it took me 15 tries to get a 4-size puzzle done in the the three-minute time limit. I can't even imagine trying a 5-size puzzle, heh. Not sure why the random puzzles would be harder, though. All in all, though, an excellent puzzle game! 5/5.
