Also: It would be great if the achievements page could be scrolled by dragging the scrollbar. In my browser, if I scroll the mousewheel down while on a Kongregate game, the page itself scrolls as well, so I keep having to click in, scroll down, click elsewhere, scroll up to bring the game back, click in, scroll down...

Developer response from keybol

you can also click and hold to drag the achievements bar.

It's not very clear what the upgrades on the main screen actually do. I mean, auto per sec is fine, but the rest... logically DMG would be the amount of damage each tick does, but then, so would ATK. Bolts are... a multiplier, maybe? There's a question mark box at the end of each, which I'd expect to be a tooltip explaining this, but they're grayed out. What the what?

In my current game, I have 1.74 thousand souls, 200 of each units (500 skeletons), all upgrades purchased. To spawn another Wurm will cost me 82.74 trillion. A Fiend will be 173t, a Ghoul 356t, and so on, one unit of each type costing about twice as much as the previous type. And that makes sense, the better units will cost more because they make more, absolutely. To buy 100 Wurms at once will be 648 quintillion. 100 Fiends are... 606 quin? Ghouls are 557, and so on. 100 Titans are about 240 quin. I thought maybe I was mixing quintillion and quadrillion, but nope, these are as written. If these values are inaccurate, it's an obvious bug. If these values are accurate, there's also a bug, or at least some really bizarre mechanical choices. This would (presumably) mean that weaker units increase in price faster than stronger ones as you buy more, eventually becoming far more expensive despite giving less reward.

Developer response from Hoistmaster

it shouldn't be like that, i will check this out adding it to the list of bugs, thanks :)

Uh-oh. Planet 4, and I've managed to break the game. At 360 speed upgrades, my pointless laps multiplier reached a bit over a hundred but started to go down and has now stuck at 123.99x, my money is flicking between huge and minus-huge values, and it's now removed the option to buy more upgrades or upgrade the planet. As in, the options were there but disappeared, but presumably because my cash and laps went so high they overflowed. Clicking enough to get a click speed multiplier upgrade results in my top speed bonus dropping. Running speed is -awholebunch, and going up (as in, towards zero). Everything I know is wrong.

* A mute button. * More expensive turrets should generally have more expensive upgrades. Here, the laser turret is cheap enough you don't need to buy any normal ones. * Hide the unused variables until you're using them. * More buildings, with synergy between them. How about booster buildings which improve turrets in a range around them, or of shots that pass over? How about having turrets needing power? Anything which gives the player more to do than just wait for money, buy the best turret, repeat. * If you're going to have shooting in there, you need to do something with that aspect. What if there were bonus targets that appeared or moved, and had to take a certain amount of damage to destroy, or that only certain types of turret would target? This is a good proof of concept, but you have work to do. Don't give up.

Thanks for all the suggestions, these are some really great ideas! Thank you very much, Aawood! I can't believe I forgot to add the mute button! I was thinking to myself how annoying it is when a game doesn't have a mute button.

How to win the game (v1.0): 1) Play normally until you find tin, iron, silver etc, anything other than coal or copper. 2) Go back to shop. Sell ore. Buy upgrades if possible. Leave shop. 3) Notice you still have the tin/silver/whatever in your inventory. Repeat step 2 as much as you want for infinite money. Use to buy all upgrades. 3.5) If this is going too slow, use the upgrades you bought to more easily find more tin, silver etc. The more you have, quicker you can spam money. 4) There is no way to win this game, so just stop once you've bought all upgrades (or, if you really want, once you've gotten all the achievements).

Oh wow, obnoxious forced tutorial, no way to pause during the first mission, and no way I could find to turn sound off (or alternatively, you can't access it for at least the first two missions)? This is how you make a potentially good game frustrating, devs.

If you buy the second money upgrade before buying the first, you wind up with a 100% chance of a normal coin, a 10% chance of a triple coin, and a -10% chance of a double coin. ...I'm going to go ahead and say that's not accurate.

Perhaps the Prestige option should be grayed out until you have the needed money and upgrades? Also, could it be altered to hide the price for the next upgrades once you've already bought the maximum upgrade?

You have no idea how tempted I was to instantly 1-star this for starting the description with the word 'addicting'. You mean 'addictive'. You may be about to say "but everyone online says that"! Yes, and everyone is wrong. It's 'addictive'. Trust me.

Nice :) It would be helpful if the Qual on the main screen adjusted as you improved the blacksmith, so you can see that item that was 400%+ when you made it is now only ~150% or whatever compared to how good your blacksmith has become, it would be much easier to decide when to upgrade your pick that way.

Bug report: How to put this without spoiling... it's possible to go further down than you're meant to be able to go by digging a vertical tunnel down with a zig-zag tunnel next to it in order to abuse the physics. That should be enough for a dev to go on without giving things away!

That was pretty cool! I would suggest adding a spread shot weapon (although the shrapnel cannon was a *very* cool addition in itself), and having indicators on the buttons to make it clear what you've still have to buy. It wasn't clear to me that there was a second plasma sword available, for example.

Aaaand I came to the first issue, and it's what I thought would happen. The "training zone" relies on text being compared to a preset value, which means any time there are multiple valid forms a line could take, it'll fall over if you don't do it in the way the dev expected. Example: Variables, it wants me to add 100 to "myNumber". I typed "myNumber = 100 + myNumber;", which is valid, but isn't counted... Because the game wants "myNumber = myNumber + 100;". If it's any consolation, codeacademy tried a more complete solution, and wound up having bugs with questions having no accepted answer!

Developer response from GregoryCarlson

I hear what you're saying. In the original original version, you even had to get the spacing right, it was awful! The answers for the game are stored in a giant array, and you have to match them exactly. I try to nudge users into the "correct" answer by doing it the same way in the examples, but if I can think of a better way to create a "pseudo coding environment", I will definitely do it.
