I suspect that the "per cycle" boost is looking at the one-shot cycle rating. i.e. if you can go around 1 full time per hit, that gives +1% (or +x% depending how many levels of the perk you have). But doing that 500 times doesn't give +1% each, it's only looking at the base one-shot cycle amount. When you go around two full times with a hit that gives further boost. btw, some reason the one-shot cycle rating goes to 3 when you only go around twice, 5 when you go around 3 times, etc. I assume that's a bug.

@hyperhippo, what is the plan here? Are you updating to add new islands and cards? Making any changes to the game structure? We aren't going to keep logging in forever just to open chests.

Its depressing in a game like this to sit for weeks at a time without making progress. The lack of a prestige system guarantees that you're going to have to update the game constantly to add new islands and new cards. And even then it's going to be really annoying opening chests and have most of them be duplicates. This game needs a rework on the XP and chest structure - both were more satisfying in alpha than beta.

Is there a five leaf clover that gets unlocked after tier 9? I completed the museum but don't see anything else happening. At tier 8 and 9 there is a bottle neck getting the first upgrade, but after that everything comes fast.

Also I see the update that now there is more info on the enemy armies and it clearly is missing the mark. You're not making your game friendly to players by making this so complicated. Just simplify it to say if a battle is very easy, easy, average, hard or very hard. Or better yet, have a display for how many troops of each type we would expect to lose in the battle, since that's all that really matters. All the detail you're providing is either irrelevant or too granular to be helpful.

@dev, if your current design doesn't allow for things like useful information about the enemies in a territory or faster unit purchase, then that's a fatal flaw with your current design. This is a bad game currently. It sounds like you should throw it away and start again with a simpler combat system that allows for reasonable gameplay. You're wasting your time updating a game that takes 5 seconds to process an order to buy more troops.

Three other suggestions: One - you've got to learn how to make this game run while we are logged out or with another tab open. That's such a basic feature of idle games. Two - it is crazy that all we can see is the number of troops in a spot but not the relative strength of those troops. A few beasts might be far stronger than a much larger army of bandits, but it's just guess work for us. Three - because of #2, there needs to be a way to abort battles halfway through. If I walk into a fight and am shocked by how strong the bad guys are, I should be able to retreat and save some of my troops.

An offline system is so far not planned. You are right with the second part tough the player has by far not enough information right now. The problem there is, the whole thing is much complexer behind the stage. Every singel soldier has his own stats and fights by himself. For every attack, there is also dice (D6) added to te attack power. The soldiers lose 1 point def after they are hit(not permanent). Soldiers can be hit by several enemies in one turn and so on. So it´s sadly not that easy to display all the useful information in a useful way.

Also there really needs to be some changes to make things happen faster. When I click to buy troops it just hangs for 3 or 4 seconds before the troops show as having been bought. And the combat is way too slow... needs to be faster.

I explained that in other comments before. I can´t really speed that up more. The buyng thing was a bad choice from me in the way how the army works. The combat is slow because there is much more happening than the player sees. Every single unit actually fights independently. They also all have their own stats and so on. The Combat system is much deeper than it looks from outside. Sadly I failed to display the whole thing in a better way.

Occasionally I lose all my army buildings. Like they randomly drop from level 4 to level 0. Is that supposed to happen from some event that I'm missing or is it just a bug? Very annoying. Also there really needs to be some way to have your population grow faster than 1 per tick. Like it you have extra food.

@jcruskell, you don't actually get the chests at all while you are offline. The timers tick down, but if you look when you load the game the bosses still are at full health and your guys have to go and kill them. Then you get the chests.

@JaXnahey, that is definitely not the max. You automatically get guildians the first time you complete the last chest of an island. You also will rarely get a black card from chests that give extra Guildians. So far I have found 2 fighters and 1 adventurer from the black cards.

A couple other random comments: First - Battle quests are pretty much useless. They do too much damage to my Guildians and don't give enough extra XP to balance out the negatives. I don't even have any cards to upgrade their XP income... Second - The guild hall upgrades are too expensive and the quest upgrades are too cheap. I always have all my quests maxed out long before I have even one maxed out guild hall. Third - The coin bonus for getting a duplicate card is too low. It should scale somehow with your abilities.

The XP bug fixes itself after a while. I have no idea what fixes it. It seems like it only happens when you log out - then you log back in it's frozen right at the start of a level. By the way, it's a bad feature that it doesn't even tell you how much XP or levels you gained while you are logged out. Goes to my prior comment about how the new XP set up is not interactive enough.

Having troops level up by global experience takes a lot of the fun out of it. I don't feel connected to how strong my troops are and don't really notice their upgrades. It would be better if the XP built up and then we had a screen where we chose how to allocated it. Something interactive like that.

How much did you play test this beta? The combat quests are so unbalanced and we have so little ability to do anything about it. I guess part of the problem is the XP bug, but there has to be more the player can do to control the combat difficulty. All my guys just get whacked so fast and I don't have monks or knights yet to heal/defend them.

It would also be much better if the sonar just said what the number of levels was, rather than making us click on it first. And it probably should show how many until the next bones too.

For everyone else - each area has a dinosaur that you can find the bones for. When complete you can use it to double the mining speed of one of your assistants, up to a max of 10. It's way overpowered considering how weak the upgrades are. There are 4 sets of bones and 4 assistants. This means you should NEVER use the bones except on someone who has 5 mining speed and you should not even try to upgrade anyone's mining speed over 5.
