ROFL. The pixelated rockets with white around them literally made me crack up laughing. As a rip-off of Missile Command, terrible. As a hilarious joke. Awesome.
Interesting idea. I don't know about this game though...
For one, my shots and my enemies' shots don't contrast with the water well and are very difficult to even see. If the water is dark, you need light bullets and vica versa. I was excited when I saw "powerups" then dissapointed when I found the apparently did nothing.
Your opening animation is awesome. You should consider doing toons for Newgrounds. The actual game though has a few problems. The quality of the ingame graphics is notably poor compared to your opener. I loved that you had bosses, but the rest of the game is just too repeptitive. These types of games are better suited to gun-in-hand arcade type games. Also, you need to fix the shooting problem where it takes multiple shots to shoot one bullet. Maybe if you fixed it and made the levels a little shorter it'd be more fun.
Like you said, it was fun for a couple of minutes. There are about a million asteroid clones like this, but I did enjoy pressing S, O, and M spastically. At least yours has powerups!
I like it okay, but don't understand why it gave me a game over. I got almost every target... I also didn't understand the bonus round and double bonus round and double double ...etc.etc.... Pretty good, but problems and vagueness need to be worked out of it.
Like the idea behind it... It needs less predictability. Vary it up somehow. Make it fun and interesting so I'm not just clicking and watching a bunch of balls hit the wall then waiting 5 seconds to declare my click a success or failure.
I thought it was hilarious that you save the chickens from disease by blasting them to smitherines. Take that PETA! hahaha
I got a real kick out of the concept and it's smart that you made levels, because otherwise it REALLY would've gotten old fast. Consider adding in a spread-fire shotgun and rocket launcher to keep people playing a little longer. I got bored around level 6 and just let them die. If you had extra guns then maybe I'd have hung around to level 20 like pixitiz. I think it deserves a 3 right now, but I gave it a 5 because it is a LOT better than some of the crap that's higher ranked than it right now.
It was kind of funny and kind of fun. You need to change the color of the +1 and -1 things to something other than yellow because you can barely see the yellow. At first I thought you had to hit the guys instead of the printers. The pig part is interesting.
It's pretty good (decent graphics, decent sound), but there are a LOT of games like this, and when you compare this to the others, or even the original.... it doesn't stand out. Also, from a design standpoint, if you want it to look good, the white Times New Roman (or whatever it is) text really clashes with the red stylized text you used elseware. I like the red text, so use it throughout if you can.
Great job with the graphics, but the game itself is lackluster. It's very hard, there are a lot of enemies in a small screenspace, and the screen shaking, while "good" in a sense, is a little excessive and kind of started to make me feel sick.
I like the zooming and the general control of the arrow I like the graphics and the water effects (the way it goes down the hills). I think this code could be used to make a really fun game, but as for this specific game... I really don't understand the point. I went around trying to get all of the hearts but it got no more interesting... no more rewarding... thus, it quickly because tedious. The CONCEPT has a lot of potential, but the way it was executed here was not the best. Keep on trying though, I like the way you think.
Ever consider giving us a bubble gun to shoot enemies on certain levels? That could be intersting. I don't know an effective way to integrate it, but give it some thought.
