I originally gave the game a 4/5. This was after player 2-3 levels (new game mode). Having now played a lot longer I'm forced to demote it to a 2/5. The game's buggy to no end. Invisible enemies (oh look! a shadow with no word, and it went into the temple...and I lost health...) and random events (I liked getting flash powered...when there were no enemies on screen) make it much harder than it need be, not to mention that the font seems designed to be hard to read. Junky game, pure and simple. Not because of the badges, but because I didn't notice it until I played more for the badges. Got the card, and I'm not coming back.
Mediocre at best. Sorry, but it's just a Geometry Wars clone, and a poor one at that. The game's ridiculously easy until the last few levels, where it becomes hard only because of the enemies spawning on top of you. 3/5.
Something of note is that replaying an old level counts as a level play to the game...which means you can get the badge by playing the first level 9 times.
Found this out while grinding for the frame thing on the first level. Game's decent, but not challenge worthy in my opinion. 3/5
Was a lot of fun, till I got to one of the 'boss' battles where a whole bunch of ninja rush. I've done many arrow key back and forth minigames before but I couldn't get the bar to even start filling, and then it told me to hit space, which did nothing, and I lost. A rather lame ending to what had been a fun game until that point.
5/5 for the actual game, -1 for the boss battles (sounds like I'm rating GH3 lol :P)
One of the most visual stunning games I've played, counting flash and installed. The gameplay holds up pretty well as well, though the number of 'Here, let me hold your hand' levels where you don't have to do anything seems a necessary evil. This game easily earned a 5/5 from me, and is the first I've played so far I'd live to give a higher rating to. Well Done.
I have to ask...why is there a timer? It seems to be rather pointless and random, and doesn't seem to add any fun to the game. Near the end it is impossible to kill the enemies before the timer runs out and so it doesn't serve any purpose at all.
Very fun game. Two problems, however. The first is that it's not explained exactly how painful it is to touch even 1 red. The second is that Purple isn't even mentioned in the instructions, but it is almost necessary to know about and use them to get a good score. Still, very fun, and a good level of challenge. 5/5
I originally gave this game a 4/5 rating. Having come back to it, and tried for the Hard badge, I'm downgrading it to a 3/5. The Anti-matter shield is just plain buggy, mapping it to left-click was a horrible idea. With both it and the sticky projectiles upgrade the game becomes super buggy. Projectiles can go straight through your shield if you time a shot badly (as the antimatter shield comes up briefly, then drops, leaving a tiny sliver of time with no shield up). Half the time I press space to turn the shield on it doesn't activate because I have a projectile held, it was just a bad decision to map two of the most useful upgrades in the game to the same button.
Certain levels have pieces which are absolutely necessary to solving them (like the Luna-Stella needed on level 11). When you don't get these in the standard rotation, and end up having to use all 8 of your bonus card abilities to get them, the game becomes a lot harder than it should be. Need I say more?
Definitely should be an impossible badge. One of the hardest hards I've seen on Kongregate.
The game was, in general, fun. The problems, however, were fairly obvious. Having a set of enemies that shoot you, and that you're supposed to hit repeatedly, was probably not the best idea. Also, the lack of control over your health was annoying. I ended up losing on the 27th level, because I had lost a lot of health on the 20th level and never recovered it. What was the point of letting me play 7 extra levels with no chance to recover/win?
Relatively fun game, especially for such a simple concept. I do wish that the PSA wouldn't play if you hit try again though. Finally got the badge after 5 tries.
Just beat it, it's a good concept, and some of the parts were pretty interesting (especially the planet part).
The problem is that its extremely glitchy. I managed to glitch up 4 times...on the first level. At one point I was flying above all the parts, on the far right side of the screen beyond the invisible lines.
Game - 3/5 -1 for bugs = 2/5
1. Passwords shouldn't be visible (why are they even required?)
2. All buttons should respond, even if their features aren't yet implemented. It's terribly confusing to click instructions a few times, only to have nothing at all happen.
3. Auto-generated argument statements would be a nice feature (especially if their non-sensical)
4. Some sort of timer on argument entries so you don't get stuck with someone who forgot they were playing
A decent idea, but the difficulty is simply way too high. That second badge is probably one of the hardest hards I've seen. It seems too much like we're fighting our character's idiocy (can't fire and move independently) and not the enemies.
