Mmmmm, "Endurance Badges." I guess that means it tests how long you can endure a terrible game. Pizza Psychopath's description at least seems to hint that the great Kongregate Gods agree.
Add scroll-wheel functionality to the Upgrade menu, or one of the other changes you've talked about making to it. Something, anything. Fiddling around with that super long list of upgrades is probably the largest thorn in this game's side. It's super fun and I love the well paced updates, but gosh. That upgrade menu just keeps getting more and more infuriating as it gets longer. Removing the automated angel warning was a pretty good move too.
Truster, double speed allows you to make cash faster, allowing you portions of cash to upgrade sooner rather than waiting for a larger lump sum later. This is better for early game, most of the early game achievements will double your speed. Late game, most of the things already complete in less than one second so they instead move to double profits so you can more visibly see the impact. That's my best take on why they did it like they did. It works out really well, anyway.
In regards to your Update question: Definitely allow us to buy less if we don't have a full 10 ready. The x10 is a convenience button for me, I just want to mash it to get as much as I can afford.
If people want more precision, they can use the x1 button.
My biggest complaint is the level restart system. I get the feeling that the system is so awful so you can force the civilian penalty on us when we hit 'Abort', but hitting Abort isn't any shorter than it would be to go to the main menu and start from there. There really ought to be an instant restart button that just rebuilds the level and lets you go, rather than having to click through many menus to get there (Two of the menus being the level briefing screen, which you annoyingly have to view twice every single time...). A lesser complaint is the pop up about the unspent stars. Good lord, I know how stars work, leave me alone! Other than that, this is a really great series (got hooked since that last BoTD), unfortunately these issues are consistent throughout the entire series.
I'm just having a really hard time enjoying this, but it feels like it should be fun. Two issues are that it gets kind of bogged down and laggy at a point, and sometimes your cats bug out and run on different lines (but refuse to pick up the bags they get, though they seem fine with dying on spikes or fighting enemies when they're bugged) The whole costume management is just a pain as well, it would be really awesome if there was 1. a graphic indicating a set was full (or make the [None] boxes very distinct from the ??? boxes) 2. an extra slot at the bottom of costumes that let you drag and drop the full costume at once (It will unequip any items from other sets as well), hovering over this icon should also show the full set bonus (name of set + skills + special power) 3. (though this is just for pure convenience, it's absolutely fine without it) Add some sort of marker over enemies to show if you have their full costume yet.
I'm not looking forward to the hard reset. I think it is essential and something you should definitely do to clear those bugged scores out, but if you're going to do it you need to do it sooner rather than later.
We're probably not going to do it. We'll fix the boards another way. A lot of players let us know that they simply don't care about the boards, and don't want to lose their progress. So we'll find a way that anyone who DOES want to get on the boards can opt in. We're still figuring this out though, so it won't be in our next update likely.
It seems lower level items (Excluding Lemonade Stand) get quite a lot more expensive to upgrade than higher end items. My 300th Oil Drill only cost 16 quintillion or so, whereas my 300th Newspaper cost nearly 100 quintillion. Thing just got more and more expensive all the way down. And then lemonade, which is still dirt cheap, I have over 500 and it only costs a few quadrillion to upgrade it.
Wow, be sure to reset your games before you start playing. Somehow most of the achievements got registered as completed and I started making a ton of cash, my angel investors were skyrocketing. I reset quick and everything seems to be back to normal, though I do have 30000 extra angels from the ordeal. Updates seems okay so far other than that.
I just get so impatient. The gap between 200's and 300's is so large. Then I reset for the added Angels... But then it never seems to go any faster. Some day I'll get there... And then I can be free...
That grind to the 300s is the true test of the AdVenture Capitalist. Soon you will have more tools for your journey. Then, perhaps, you shall set your sights even higher...
Though, I must admit, reading how difficult so many people said this game was... I felt a little underwhelmed. I only had to do about 10 or so total song playthroughs (I did restart one multiple times at the start of one though to get a good starting combo). I mean, I'm bad at these games. But I feel it isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. Definitely not a fan of the WASD/arrows combo though....
Every mutation other than the brute is next to useless in a jam, there's a 80% chance that you'll be shot the second you grab them. Pretty annoying, they should get brief invincibility, or some amount of health that needs to be depleted. before the power goes away. Sucks to just constantly get shot the second you grab a powerup.
My suggestion to get the BoTD would be to skip the Marathon Easy level and move on to the first Medium level instead. It is far less time consuming, and notably easier (Or maybe it just seemed that way).
Yellow bulet, yellow stars, yellow money. Blue bullets, blue stars. It got a bit difficult to see at times, though with certain weapons you can just blast everything before it even gets on the screen so I guess that isn't much of an issue anyway.
I need to stop playing new games when they come out. Getting tired of having to replay them months later after badges have been added and the data is all cleared from my browser :/
