Okay, I'm posting this because this was literally the only part I couldn't figure out without a walkthrough. To get a second job, just hit mute and talk to Sue.
I really like the concept, especially the slightly-more-convoluted-than-it-really-needs-to-be level up system, which is something I enjoy in most of my games. Unfortunately, I really don't like the game enough to give it more than a 3, and here's why: the game is just way too easy. I played through it in one sitting, and not once did I ever lose a life. Oh there were a couple of times that I came close to dying, but even with the HP regeneration feature only working sporadically, I still managed a no-death run on my first playthrough with ease. So, if you ever make a sequel to this (I hope you do!), please make it much, MUCH harder.
Goddamn, I practically teared up at the last level when I heard the conversations over the radio. Thank god I completed it successfully the first time, because I don't think my heart could take it otherwise.
The random generation of obstacles seems to frequently result in points where the only clear way through is through a series of spike traps. Which is pretty sh*tty.
Rafael, they can't do that because anyone can get it using a walkthrough. Only achievements that require skills from the player that cannot be gotten from a walkthrough are eligible.
I only have one complaint, but it's a big one. The fact that dying once completely eliminates your score is incredibly and unnecessarily frustrating. It would be much better if you had 3 lives to waste before losing your score.
James... try clicking on the left and right arrows at the edges of the level select screen. There are 48 levels. First you have to collect enough stars in the first 18 levels to unlock the next set of 18 levels, and then enough stars to unlock the last 12 levels. And you don't have to collect every star; less than half available to that point, I think.
I decided to go all the way back to the beginning after reaching the Black Sea, just for the hell of it. I noticed that when I entered the Emerald Forest, experience per battle jumped up to like 9000-something (insert meme reference here), and then, once I got all the way to the Shika Grove, I was earning 27000 EXP per battle. What is going on??
Also, the Shadow Stone is a complete gamebreaker. If it healed at one MP per move or turn, it would be fine. But it heals constantly, so you can equip it between fights to get free restoration, and then equip something else for your next fight.
