It really warms my heart to read that others also suggested the AI to come along. In the end, I think I suffer from the curse of empathy: there is no way I can ever play this game and bring myself to leave any entity, not even an AI, that is afraid to die alone. I probably would be unable to do it in a real-life situation like this either. This game makes you think. Awesome job, I love it!
Look at that: a shooter with a health bar AND temporary shield after you get hit, so that the health bar actually helps too! Nice touch, especially if you're a dork like me, who ends up playing this on a touch pad...
For someone who tends to get lost, it was very refreshing to be able to find my way around pretty easily in this game. The X and C mix-up is probably the worst enemy, but other than that there are just a few sneaky bits that make you go: "Aaah, you got me! Haha!" I love it when a game does not become frustrating. Great touch to make the boss optional.
Nothing but praise for this one!
I love how the top comments for this game enhance the experience by pointing out details I missed. When you are open to it, this is a very emotional mini adventure that offers a lot of food for thought. The uncertainty of what happens after the end of the game is haunting.
This game is a bit weird. It has a 'messy' and fun art style (must have been a lot of extra work, but the result is awesome, INMO), and it has a lot of feel-good vibes...but then there is -how shall it put it to avoid spoiling- something not-so-feel-good in it. However, I still enjoyed it a lot! Weird, but not in a bad way, so let's call it "pretty unique".
Like someone else commented, it reminds me of UFO: Enemy Unknown and X-com, but without the base management and lighter. It feels exciting, it offers a lot of freedom and it is well-explained. Like X-com, this is not my kind of game, but it is definitely very well-made!
The misalignment-deaths are a bit frustrating at times and so is the jumping animation, which sometimes calls for very accurate timing of the button press. But those are details. The game itself is refreshingly different and quite addictive. My only regret is playing the first 30 levels muted. I love the music even more than the game.
Has a bit of that Alter Ego feel to it. I feel ancient right now for remembering that game... I must admit that I stopped reading after a while and just clicked to find all the pictures, but that was just because I had finished all the paths I personally found interesting. Nice and simple.
Yeah, the main problem I have with level 25 is that I don't understand the hints, the spoiler in the top comments or even the explanation of the creator in the comments. With most of the other levels being so straight-forward, it is very disappointing to not be able to finish the final level.
This game is so clearly based on (X-mas) Lemmings that I cannot help but compare the two. As such, I found this one highly disappointing. The command stones seem unnecessarily fidgety and error-prone. I appreciate that the automatic jumping/hopping of the critters requires you to think ahead more, but I am too prejudiced in my comparison to Lemmings to experience it as a positive thing myself.
Oh man, I just LOVE how this game consists of drawn artwork and the music makes me feel bad-ass before doing anything. I usually play games with at least the music muted, but I could not bring myself to doing that with this game.
I read about the flaws in the old comments, but so far, I am just enjoying the ride. This game feels as if a lot of love went into it. That is something I always appreciate.
At first, I cringed at the 'amazing' parenting skill, the 'wise' decision to bring along a toy for a simple chore and putting it down, and the three critters being jerks. But then things took a turn and become a lot cuter.
Apparently, apart from a misguided eagle, every living creature out there is more helpful and caring than the Anika's parents. Makes me feel like the electric fence is to keep her IN rather than to keep monsters OUT. Which, come to think about it, gives her showing her new-found wings at the very end an entirely new meaning. Meh, I'm probably overthinking again.
Entertaining and cute little game with a lovely atmosphere.
This is so embarrassing: I spend 40 hours a week typing for my work, then a good amount of time typing in my time off, yet still I cannot remember where the A, S and D are respective to one another while playing this game.
Fortunately, playing the bass IRL is easier than playing guitar in this game, haha! And the game is fun regardless, and it has some great tunes!
You know what would be really nice? If you could opt out on the platforming or opt out on the songs. Some people seem to dislike the song aspect, because of the lag, while I personally prefer that bit over the platforming, which I find pretty frustrating.
It basically seems like two games in one, and each part is likely to please other people. Having the option to omit the part you dislike would be very nice indeed, IMHO.
I really wish I had read the comments before playing. I just HAD to replay the game for the other ending after feeling like a massive jerk!
But I love this game! The over-the-top start made me grin, the second half made me laugh out loud. The art is amazing and it is so clear that a lot of love and effort went into the drawing! And the 'good' ending is so very satisfying!
This game is very entertaining and well-made: you get to think things through without having to state most of the obvious. My only gripe is that the characters move so slowly that my limited patience is tested :-P
I like how badges make older games pop up into view! This one was pretty nice, although I felt really sorry for the earlier creations, being all innocent and sweet and stuff...
