Wow, I read the comments before posting and I see people saying they got bored after wave 100. I never even made it that far before I felt the game became repetitive. There just seems to be no real incentive to expand and every spot on the map seems about as good as any to start building.
The concept is nice and I enjoy how simple yet clear the HUD and graphics are. There are plenty of build options and the speed settings are nice. Too bad that the gameplay itself is a bit lacking. Not sure what the problem is exactly, to be honest.
Others have said it, but the gameplay is severely lacking in several respects, the AI being one of them. When trying to work as a team, I feel like a babysitter/shepherd cross-over.
I usually love CCGs, but this one really fell flat for me. All the different in-game currencies to obtain things really made it hard to keep an overview. I understand the desire for in-game purchases, but this is pushing it.
The forced clicking (thanks for letting me know I unlocked something, but I don't care, so please just let me click OK and continue what I was doing), the mechanic that your entire hand is replaced at the end of each turn (let me save this card for next turn...oh wait, I can't), which removes an important tactical element from the game, and the repetitiveness of mainly the enemy cards (yes, got rid of that nasty...oh, he just played a new one with full health...should've just let it be then) all make this game less fun for me.
Currently wondering if I want to sit it out till I completed stage 30 for the badge, but the fun is long gone :(
Hi Col1980, thanks for your comment, we appreciate your time. We understand that having 3 different in-game currencies can be overwhelming indeed, but we actually need them for all those long-end players, also there are indeed lots of different features and we probably could think about not forcing the player to get in at that very moment. Now regarding your hand getting reshuffled at every turn that's something that we really wanted to implement, yes you indeed lose a tactical element, but you also get new opportunities to re-think your strategy every single turn. Also, we wanted to try something new. Summarizing, we will think about the two first comments you mentioned and we are sorry the fun is gone for you, it's always sad to watch an unhappy player.
This is next level freemium: put an autoplay button in it so the user can focus on paying rather than playing :-P
Nice game, but I had rather pay for the game itself than to have it as freemium. But that is probably just personal preference.
If a dog can be standing right in front of you while you cannot possibly hit it, and if you cannot aim at a zombie who is less in front than another one, you know the aiming is game-breaking bad.
Really cool to play with an army whose only advantage is that units will retreat instead of fighting to the death only to see they retreat for 2 seconds and then decide they might as well die anyway.
Too random to my taste.
I really don't understand how some units can shoot straight through all defences without any such special ability being mentioned on the card. Combined with the very unclear battle sequence, this game leaves me trying to figure out what just happened and what I could do about it more than actually enjoying the experience.
Too bad, because I really wanted to like it.
I see how this game is enjoyable to others, but simple games that change the rules every five seconds are not my cup of tea. I DO appreciate the graphics, controls and sense of humour! So I still want to say: nice work! :)
Great graphics, but I think this game suffers from cultural differences: it feels overly dramatic and the main character attaches way more value to principles/doing the right thing than most people in the Western countries (unfortunately). This makes the game less relatable and involving. The advice to save often felt very redundant and the final save point was even after the last point where you could take any action. The ending just did not feel very exciting to me either, because my lack of involvement.
Too bad, because I really wanted to like this game.
It has only been a couple of days since I played Home, yet when the music started, it really did feel like a homecoming, and I swear, the little scene where you see everybody gathered there brought a tear to my eyes. You created a little group of friends that settled right into my heart and fills me with nostalgia, as if meeting real-life old friends. No matter how straight-forward the story may be, you always succeed in making it involving. That is one talent I am actually quite jealous of; I am glad you allow us all to enjoy it, though!
I love this game! As a casual gamer, I enjoy being able to set the difficulty to Easy and just have fun without any frustration, while I noticed that the harder difficulty levels are quite challenging and should appeal to those who enjoy tough games. Rarely do games accommodate both types of players nowadays. Just wonderful!
Finally a game that focuses on gameplay rather than flashy effects. I like it and it was really fun to analyse how the different elements were created from regular symbols! Thanks for creating this nice little game!
Trial and error in the original led to short animations, not death and a complete restart. I wonder why they changed it when it was a distinguishing positive feat.
This game would really benefit from quality settings: I would much prefer a game with lesser graphics that would respond perfectly and was less processor-intensive. Collision detection seems to be quite random too. It happened twice that the game did not tally my score but faded out, then faded in and returned to the game screen, locking up. I wanted to like this game a lot more than I was able to because of all this.
This game fails at so many levels: it is too easy, the music is unbearable in the long run and switching it off will also disable soundeffects, towers seem to differ mainly in appearance, not in effect... And then the pretentions to accuracy: going from one Greek island to another (without any accurate map, by the way), attacking (that is what it reads...in a tower DEFENCE game) creatures that may or may not resemble anything from history or Greek mythology...that is very Trojan, of course. Good grief.
I'm working on improving that! I have some kind of powerups in mind - be prepared for the next big update :)
