I finally got patient enough to let my computer grind on the menu after the "x chars y guns whoo we rock" cut; had to leave the thing for several minutes before I could get the "choose your game type" part working, and even now it lags. Otherwise... uh, decent game, but kinda too spastic. It makes me want to go play Smash Bros. or Thing-Thing. That is all.
There does seem to be a bug that sometimes makes you stop moving as microa said. Regardless, it's a fun and cute game. I could see the plot-free mode being too repetitive, but that's mindless killing for ya.
Thus far, what you have is just Sketch Fighter, plus drawing your own ship, and minus variety in goals and enemies. Meh. Needs a visible timer for each level (and those levels seemed awful short), and better scaling -- my ship came out tiny after I added a cannon to it, dunno how. Add some interesting maps or goals and it'll be excellent. Just don't get yer arse sued by Ambrosia. ;-P
Metallic, I'm pretty sure there are more English-speaking Americans than there are English-speaking Britons. I don't see any words in this game where it would matter whether they used a British or American translation, but one can just assume they used an American English translator anyway.
So anyway... holy friggin' trippy Japangasm. Fun but WTF, y'know?
Saving between stages would be nice, but I can't really complain... it's just awesome in general. Sadly the title screen turned me off from it for awhile, as I misperceived the kind of game it would be. *shrugs*
jakerman, thanks for the heads-up. Used the walkthrough when it first came out, cookies still there... cleared and off to beat it a third time. *rolls eyes*
